phouphou: strong coma.
@phouphou You are funny .. its a very cheap lens and quality is better than any other lens in that price range (in fact even double the price range).
LeDatas: Looks like a winner at $300
$299
primeshooter: Yes, it is good that AF has been improved. However, what a shame they failed to fix a lot of the other basic issues while they were doing firmware fixes -
1) Clear the LV screen of clutter for composition
2) Add in the 900 second timer in body
3) Adjust the LV refresh rate in low light down to 1-2FPS to achieve a much cleaner, less noisy and useable LV feed in the darkness.
4) Add ability to linearly focus all lenses rather than focus by wire for focus pulling / and more precise MF
5) Add RGB histogram live so we can truly "See what we get" in the finder. Without this, it is still partial guess work. Why not go the whole hog like other cameras?
A lot more here -

@Primeshooter PhotographyLife love Nikon Z btw .. this wish list is not a show stopper for them .. its just a nice to have,
wcan: As a Z6 owner, I am now comfortable staying with Nikon for the future.
Z6 is the best camera I have ever used
Kudos to Nikon for producing such a great all round camera!
NexUser: Here is the thing: If Z7 II comes with 45.7MP and improved performance, Youtubers paid by my camera's company will shout like "but A7RIV has 60MP so Nikon lost it here".
Unfortunately those so-called "influencers" have lost their ways to make more money.
I have stopped watching those channels long time ago.
I tested out today .. it works perfectly. Kudos to Nikon!
Lack of innovation to blame.
If they were 10 steps ahead of cell phone cameras at a reasonable price the situation would have been much better. Alas, they are just few steps ahead .. Most people who are better served by their cell phones.
DigitalFFUser: This is funny! They are late in this game too!
Sony and Nikon already have 45 MP+ & IBIS cameras with 8 K for years.
Which will not be as good as a 33 MP still as video uses different codec for compression.
Max Iso: Who didn't think Canon was going to dominate ML too? We've been saying it for some time now, anyone who didn't know this was coming was delusional, Canon are #1 for a reason. In short time they will own FF and apsc ML, while MFT holds up the smaller ML niche.
No 1 for a reason?
Nikon was No 1 company for 50 years before they were taken over by Canon. Canon will be taken over by someone else if they continue to cripple their cameras.

Dude, you are knit picking about a possible 8K that nobody cares and completely ignored the Mega pixels and IBIS part. Point is the headline suggested as something big is happening for camera world, no its not. Its just that Canon is so far behind that specs are very good .. for a Canon.

Z7 (45 MP), A7RIII (42 MP) and A7RIV (62 Mp) ... they all have IBIS ... Z7 does 8K time lapse. Z7 4k Raw 12 bit support.

vFunct: The MTF chart is INCREDIBLE for a sub $3000 lens. This lens is going to be a Z-system seller.
This is what Z system needed. I wish Nikon released it sooner to show off the Z system and S mount.
This is the best 70-200 released for any camera body period.
Only people who are posting and whining here are non Nikon users.
Astro Landscapes: It's official. F/1.8 is the new f/1.4.
I'm actually pretty surprised by how many people can't seem to get past their preconceived notions about the number 1.8, just because of their junky old 1.8 that they remember being terrible or mediocre. This is a whole new generation of lenses, period.
Regarding the price: these f/1.8's are on Zeiss Otus level of image quality. I strongly suspect that 75-90% of the boo-hooers haven't shot with either of the existing new 1.8's on a Z7 wide open at 1.8. If they had, they wouldn't be here trolling an $800 lens that is probably going to be almost as good (or better than) a $4,000 lens.
And for those of you who are about to lose it over this notion- calm down, don't worry, f/1.2 will be the new f/1.4! So, the "DOF-obsessed bokeh lovers" will be happy, eventually, and the "mirrorless is supposed to be lightweight!" crowd can be happy too.
Nikon knew they had to play this card. Any mediocre performing lens, whether 1.8 or 1.4, would get laughed at.
Biggest pain is GrapeJam who is the biggest Sony troll in these forums.
jeffharris: Why is this lens so big? It’s only f1.8.
That used to mean small and priced to match.
I don’t get it.
Look at MTF charts .. there is no lens even close second to this one. All design choices made it possible.
Another great lens in Z's S line up. Its going to be a steller performer. I love all the S lenses so far. Another home run for Nikon.
Lihkin: Jared's video (starting from 14:15) has a pretty comprehensive Eye AF tests. I am a Nikon guy, but man, that Sony's Eye AF is just super impressive.
https://youtu.be/gxqa_f6LsQI
He has an agenda .. Nikon EYE-AF is better.
Matsu: This thread is hilarious. In a contracting market, news of declining sales from one manufacturer shouldn’t be interpreted as evidence of increase among any other manufacturers. They are all in an overall trend of shrinking sales volume.
Sony sales numbers were very low to start with so 4% percent increase is no big deal. They are still eating a very small pie.
