Not the best video.

I guess I'll be in the not impressed camp, don't like the colours and lack of sharpness.

I guess I must be he oddball here, but while they look OK and good to some degree, I see nothing stunning about its optical quality. I find it soft wide open too.

sapporodan: Even though i dislike the focal range, the lens produces beautiful images. The rendering and boheh are wonderful. no regrets buying it.

If you dislike the focal range, why did you buy it? Focal range should always be the primary consideration for lens purchases.

What a steal at $900.

Searching: Well, it's a nice lens but really its nothing that special either. My Olympus m4/3 lenses exceed the sharpness of this lens and colours are more accurate.

Yes exactly, knowledge is strength, name calling is weakness.

How can this review be 85% Silver and EM1MK2 be 85% Gold, where is the logic in Silver vs Gold? Just curious.

Searching: I agree with previous poster, shots looks like something you could get with a point and shoot, and even the p&s shots would be better.

Not sure what you mean by colour density?

Not a very good review IMHO. Read Ming Thien's review to get a better sense of the camera.

marike6: Consistency from review to review is important, but a bit lacking. For example, why was the Fujifilm X-E2s penalized for using the ancient 16mp Sony sensor, the first X-E2s Con being "Sensor / processor is looking dated". And this "Gold Award" G85, which uses the m43 version of the same ancient 16mp sensor, not a word? Oversight?

This review kind of feels like "yay 4k" lets ignore the elephant in the room, which specifically is Panasonic holding the better sensor for the upcoming GH5. If I missed mention of the older G85 sensor, my apologies.

Agree, no consistency, Gold, really?

What an ugly looking featureless camera, gives mirrorless a bad rap.

brycesteiner: The pictures of the wedding shot and the motorcycle on the page 1 have a lot of noise for ISO 400 and ISO 200. Even the shot below in evening light at 12800 ISO is very noisy. My old Oly E-M5 has less noise. I would expect much better from this. Perhaps a firmware update will fix some of this.
If the reason is because it's optimized for much higher ISO's that's fine, but most shooting, at least for me, is not going to be higher than 3200. Therefore, I can't imagine it would appeal to too many photographers.

Thanks for the great reply by DPR staff.
