The Panasonic 50/1.8 is a fantastic lens optically but it doesn't have the I-series feel that really adds to the enjoyment of photography.

Looks like a very nice venue.

You could ask the Pentax users with their 24-70/2.8, 15-30/2.8 or 70-210/4. Personally, I feel that a 50% price hike for changing the cosmetics is taking the Mickey even if the images do look good.

I'm sure this will be the 50/1.4 though I'd much prefer an I-Series 50/1.8 or 50/2.5 macro.

There is also a Monster adapter to use Pentax AF (using screw-drive) lenses on Sony E mount. Firmware is an ongoing project as it works on creating profiles for specific lenses - if your lens ...

I have the Panasonic 20-60mm and it's a superb lens where the extra-wide focal length is very handy. Panasonic deserve the credit for moving things in that direction but it looks like Sony are the...

K&F Concept are my go-to makers of adapters as they're reasonably priced and very well made. The F to L adapter is on it's way but I haven't received it yet. I have an Urth adapter for the ...

Here's a series of shots I took at the "three wise men" cavalcade on the 5th of September in Segovia, Spain, using the S5 and an old manual focus lens - the Pentax SMC 135mm f/2.5. It's the best ...

I'm surprised to see a price difference in France compared to Spain as I imagine they're treated as the same market by both companies.

Copied and pasted from George's December thread just to get things moving. Hope you don't mind, George. * * * * * Here is my normal spiel: This is the place to share your L-mount images & videos. ...

Last of the December images from me. At the zoo with the Sigma 90mm f/2.8 DG DN At a restaurant in Bilbao with the Sigma 35mm f/2 DG DN And this was taken with an old Pentax K 30mm f/2.8

A 50mm macro lens, even if it only goes to 1:2, is an incredibly useful thing. Essentially it's a reasonably fast standard prime where you don't have to worry about the minimum focus distance or...

How about a special edition of the GR IIIx rather than just the boring 28mm version?
-
Now that prices are out, this lens costs €150 more than the Sigma 16-28mm f/2.8 Contemporary. That's a very hard sell for me - I'd much rather give up a couple of mm to get a constant f/2.8.
-
It would have been nice to see a roughly 50mm macro prime rather than another 100mm one, already covered by Sigma. Ideally a Sigma 50mm f/2 macro in the I-series. F/2 is pushing things, it'd be...

Vit Adamek - congratulations on becoming a father. I was in the same situation four years ago and have found that it has shaped what I want from my camera gear. In my case I used mainly a...

Very nice review and good to see the S5 getting a bit of an update. As an S5 user since last April there certainly isn't anything that makes me want to upgrade but the S5 has been the pillar of...

I''ve found the AF in my S5 to be nothing short of excellent, indicating that all the anti-CDAF stuff is nonsense for many people. Of course, I shoot very little video and the S5 is widely...

APS-C makes no sense for Panasonic as it would sabotage their m4/3 gear where I imagine they're making more money as it's much more established than the L-mount. The S5 is a stellar camera and not ...
