I know this SW is old, but it's still kicking....

And PhotoAcute even recommends 10 or more images just to improve the probability of finding the images arranged just right to produce superresolution.

Certain kinds of filtering work well in post, but not all. Because of the Bayer matrix, color filters don't make much sense. And post processing works best.

The filters you cannot do with post processing are ND filters and polarizing filters.
