Every Canon DSLR I've had has an exposure meter in the VF. No it's not the same as having a histogram but it does give you an idea.

Yes, it's not intermittent. It wasn't there in the photos from April 2019, so something happened to the camera between then and May 2020 when the cat photos were taken.

Probably not given Canon's cease-and-desist orders on 3rd parties and RF mount. They may not legally be allowed to do anything further on RF mount lenses.

If you mean Adobe DNG or TIFF, no there is no option for raw other than CR3. As noted, if your current software does not recognize it then use Canon's DPP. Or upgrade your software.

Wouldn't a fan need a vent somewhere? I would also think a fan, even a small one, would have a noticeable impact on battery life.

Only the "normal" lens (26mm equivalent) has the 1/1.65" sensor. The ultra-wide and tele lenses use a 1/3.4".
