Your lucky. I can’t even get WS to update anything on my 2017 Monterey MacBook Pro. In spite of carefully following the extensive start up changes advised in the OM faqs.. In the end I updated on ...

If OM could produce a 400 f5.6 PF lens as good as the Nikon 500mm PF I would buy it. Nikon imo have nailed diffractive optics with that lens.

Well done Lothar. I appreciate your contributions to this forum and have followed your journey from full frame to m43 with interest. Thanks, Brandon

I agree fully with you. Good advice to the OP. But I’ll add for the OP my other thought here. I was teaching a friend how to use an RX10m4 to take birds in flight yesterday. The camera was set up ...

It’s not really over in a few minutes and if you are there in an overlapping dawn ie one where the knot and the pink foots are present it goes on for nearly an hour. I t starts in the pre dawn so ...

A 500 f5.6 PF is quite manageable on a V3 with grip. I have both but actually prefer the OM1 and 300 f4 pro +/- TC's in the field because it is a complete package, birds, birds in flight, stacking ...

For everything else I could use an iPhone 15 pro

That’s true for me also, but cropping more with a full frame sensor using the same local length lens does the same. Only a longer heavier lens on a full frame sensor prevents that. However on m43 a ...

This is what I found too, which is why m43 with a good camera like the OM1 and a very sharp lens like the 300 f4 pro competes well at similar shutter speeds to my D500 and 500 f5.6 Pf. I usually ...

That's interesting. What adaptor did you use?

My experience also. To be honest I find using single point CAF and bird ai on a toggle works very well for me for all but flying birds. I have a flying bird button toggle for that which use bird ...

I’d also like in camera focus stacking.

Mine's the same as yours and I love using it too.

I never use SAF but use single point CAF which can usually thread the needle. I have bird AF on a button toggle so can switch to bird AF in a moment when bird is clear. Works for me handheld most ...

Not an expert but here is an 8 shot stack handheld of a 7mm jumping spider.

OM1 Joy to use for everything from birds, insects, landscapes and people. Great controls, ergonomically placed and instant access custom modes. Love it.
