Imager of: I’ve been looking for a new camera for my family outings. Also got a trip booked for Disney next year. Think this camera will be perfect. Time to sell some Sony gear.

I need to take more cat photos, but my 45MP Nikon just isn't cutting it. Resolution is too low, and the body is too pretty.

IamJF: FF vs. mMF (mini-MF ;-)
FF lenses are faster, so you will not see a difference in
*background blur (actually FF will blur more - 50/1.2, 85/1.2, 105/1.4, 135/1.8)
*lower light above base ISO

But that's only a small part of photography. Bring lights, stay at base ISO and need some DOF anyway - you will get incredible detailed 100MPix pictures.

Of course, if you need long lenses, fast focus and when size and price is a concern ... I would never change FF for the mMF, but with the 100MPix sensor there is for sure a place for it.

I shoot wildlife, so something like this Fuji is next to useless for me.

M Chambers: Bringing medium format to the more mainstream public is a huge step forward.

No one in the mainstream will be buying these.

True. The prices of those bodies makes $10K look cheap =)

At this price, they should have Santa's elves building them.

kreygscott: Thanks for the post Barney. However I can't see myself spending 10K on this camera unless I'm offered a high paying position at DP Review :).

With the average photographer salary ranging from $30-50K, that would be a pretty big expense. How much do the lenses cost?

xPhoenix: Using a monstrous, MF body as a travel camera, LOL. Hey, at least it takes good pics of the toddlers, because I'm sure every parent will want to spend $10K and needs 100MP images to share on FB.

Still don't see why 100MP are needed, especially for that kind of work. I could see wildlife, where a lot of times we're reach limited. But really, do we need a 100 MP image just to get downsized on the cover of Vogue. Whatever. I don't have skin in the game. The high-MP FF cameras are good enough for me. Even that is pushing the size/weight limit that I'm comfortable with.

LOL, so are you related to the Kardashians? Or maybe you get your money from welfare? Or dealing drugs (although, that would still qualify as a job, I suppose). Or maybe you're just full of it. As entertaining as this is, I have better things to do. Adios.

What category is the Q2 actually in? Overpriced garbage?

If you read the article in the link, you'd see Fuji did OK against the much more expensive Q2.

You keep affirming your ignorance with every post. Since you obviously have nothing better to do than post on here all day, you must not even have a job, so no $$$ to buy a Leica anyway.

Oh, and just for funsies, here's a comparison between the Q2, Sony and Fuji. Pretty sad how cameras costing thousands less can beat it in many areas. Q2 = overrated & overpriced.

LOL, I can't even listen to your nonsense anymore. After all this, you're not even going to buy a Q2?! Whatever, man. There are so many better options than this at much better prices.

I don't think you know what strawman, moving the goalposts, or anything else means. Try spending money learning about photography instead of wasting it on a silly camera like this. Or don't. I don't really care.

I was talking about ISO. Then you started talking about sharpness again, so I brought up the Ricoh that I mentioned way back in my initial post. Not my fault you're hurt because a $1000 camera can match the sharpness of the overrated Q2. I'm not moving any goalposts. You simply can't accept the fact that the Q2 is absurdly overpriced for its performance level. That's OK. Leica couldn't stay in business if there weren't suckers out there falling for their idiocy.

From the looks of the sample photos, there are plenty of lenses in Nikon's lineup that are easily as sharp. The Ricoh cameras are just as sharp.

A D850 + good lens is still cheaper, and much more versatile.
