Nicephore Niepce: Looks like they all have one thing in common. All taken with DSLRs.
As far as contest winners go, this is an excellent group of photos, all deserving.
We hate to admit the truth here, but all you need is a Nikon D3300 or Canon 6D, and you can shoot the best wildlife photos...if you have the skill.
Mmmm. I get the idea there would be plenty mirrorless winners if the fine folks we see here and place like FM Forums were competing. Pop over to the Sony board and see what they're doing with the humble a6400. I'm sure the Canon, Nikon, and any brand with decent long lenses have capable shooters.
aioravecz: Seems like a great camera, but nothing really special compared to my a99II...probably a bit more rugged and the AF is probably on par. The video seems great on paper but will probably be dissapointing in real life. they should have incorporated a oversampled 1.5x crop mode....
IBIS is a double-edged sword; most of the third-party lenses that normally have a stabilizer don't in a-mount, BUT STILL COST THE SAME.
