Nicolas Det: The Razer is repairable and expandable: one can upgrade/replace ssd, ram and WiFi module. You also get revelant "work" features like USB ports, SD, LAN..

One do not really want to start DaVinci Resolv on a 8/16Gb machine.

Also Intel recently released the 11th generation i7 which look quite a step forward.

ARM are great but Intel/AMD are not bad and even surprisedly competitive considering the process (14/10mm) and old CISC architecture.

The biggest plus of the M1: it's very likely a lot of cheaper for Apple!

There are quite a few youtube videos out there of people editing 4k footage in davinci resolve on 8gb m1 MacBooks (as well as some even editing 8k). I didn't believe it until I saw it but it seems to be true. Have a look for Mralextech demonstration of his m1 for example.

btnapa: I have been waiting for a camera like this but at $6,500?!! Add three or four Sony pro lenses, we are gonna be in the $12-14 range. What about a backup 2nd body... now we are in the $20K+ range. Wow.

For active pros, it makes sense and will pay for itself. For the rest of us, I am not sure.

Yikes, will need to sell both kidneys instead of just one!!!

yeah the price sucks! I would also need to buy a new PC to handle the files it spits out most likely so add another 2k on top of that

Michael J Emerson: Nothing to be of any real value here i'm afraid. The images look false and unnatural. Any fool can do that in Photoshop. This is why for the most part digital stinks to high heaven...

Going hiking with a back pack full of camera gear is basically my idea of a dream vacation. It's a shame if someone does it enough that it becomes like "work".

Ghuraify: One of the best cameras for photos, great IBIS, great AF. Not so great for videos, unreliable with poor battery life. I wonder about how it will perform where I live with 48 degrees celsius and 70+% humidity.

Likewise I wonder how it would perform where I live in the UK where it's cold most of the time. Weird to have a camera that might be more useful for some locations than others!

(unknown member): looks pretty good. I wonder if i should get this or the Moza Aircross 2 for my a7iii + 24-105 combo

Just came across this review of the gimbal from brandon li who shows some balance issues with the 24-105mm at 4.20 in
https://youtu.be/M5PXB0p6VUM
Seems to work ok with a riser plate but not at 105mm

i have that same set up. I wonder how well it will balance on this gimbal, i know the weight is not a problem but the 24-105 is very front heavy and on my current gimbal (cheapo feiyutech a1000) i cant balance it as i cant push the release plate far enough back

EDIT: according to this https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/Ronin_SC/Ronin_SC_Camera_Compatibility_List_en.pdf
it will with some counter weights

barnyz: Nearly 800g, too heavy for me.

im not an expert in lens weight (sorry) so im not sure what i was expecting but the leaked images made it look smallish so i assumed it would not weigh that much

Lots of negative comments here which i dont understand, i shoot 50/50 stills and video where i need an nd filter constantly for video but rarely for stills and having to screw on and unscrew a filter every few minutes is a pain so im definitly interested in something like this.
