Or y'know... just buy it now...

There are 2 Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art lenses, the newest came out in Aug 2020. Both are still for sale. The original DG HSM version was/is a DSLR + integrated MC-11 adapter and was/is HUGE. The new DG ...

Is the Zeiss worth the extra money over the Rokinon/Samyang if you are only doing astro? In Ian Norman's Rokinon 12mm review he compares it to the Touit and says its sharper at f/2 than the Zeisa ...
-
Given that you mentioned the Fuji and Viltrox lenses, I'm assuming you aren't specifically looking for a macro lens. The Fuji 50 f/2 is spectacular. I'd get that.

Voted for plan 3 but wanted to make some additional comments. The Rokinon is well constructed and as long as you get a good copy it produces lovely images. Good for astrophotography, general ...

I think for most people here the Q2 is the obvious answer to this question, but given that she already owns the A7RIV I can understand the indecision. For exclusively street and/or travel ...

Utter nonsense. The GM is 1.4 and is blisteringly sharp. The 28 f/2 is not a GM lens. If you own the GM lens and think it is unsharp you should send it back because your copy is likely decentred.
-
Outside of the size its phenomenal. Though if you are opening up to larger, heavier lenses the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 might be an option to consider.

AF performance on the Sony will depend highly on what lens is being used. AF on the Q2 is extremely fast and consistent, but contrast detect only, no phase detect AF points. Both should be ...

The GRIII front element is inset into thr barrel of the lens and so doesn't require a dedicated hood. The Batis 25 is very resistant to flaring though so might be your answer. Because you want 28mm ...
-
The Batis is outstanding, but the lens hood pushed it from what you call 'middle-sized' to 'large'. In no way could it ever be described as discrete. It ends up almost as big as the Sony 24mm GM. ...

The Sony FE 28mm f/2 is average at best and while it once represented *fairly* good value, early on in the e-mount line, today I wouldn’t touch it with a barge pole. I have owned 3 copies of that ...
-
I own both cameras (A7RIiI & X-Pro3) and appreciate them equally. The X-Pro3 isn’t that much lighter in comparison but the Sony is heavier body-only. Weight will be determined by the lens you are ...

We'll seen full size samples for the R6 but virtually.nobody has samples (resized or not) from the R5. There are some full size images on the Canon website though so I find it very strange that...

"Editor's note: All images from the pre-production camera used for this review have been resized at Canon's request." Why?

Congrats fella! Thay lend us well worth it.

@cxsparc IBIS should be turned off at high shutter speeds regardless of the manufacturer, it isn't just for Fuji.
-
With regards to the sample gallery I suspect 3 things: 1. The raws are compressed. 2. The photographer didn't let IBIS settle before taking the photos. 3. IBIS wasn't turned off at higher shutter ...
