Sangster: Wonder if Godox and Yongnuo are related? Both are located in Shenzhen, China.

Most of the made-in-China photographic accessories are actually made in Shenzhen. Flash, tripod, li-on battery, lens adaptor and whatever you can imagine...

I do love the way dpr compares several p&s cameras with a graph of equivalent aperture and focal length. But it only appears in the camera news and later we can never find it again. Could you make such a chart tool and embed it into your comparison system? And it would be greater if dslr lenses are also included in this tool!

Well, no EVF, no hot shoe, no 4K video doesn't matter too much for me. The only thing disappointing is the poor battery life, and it doesn't support USB charging! Canon must know the solution, but you have to wait a year for this tiny little step forward on G7X MK2.

sfa1966: No Sigma DP(x)M?
Or do they not fall into this category?

DP series are in the category of prime lens compact, competing with X100, Coolpix A, GR, X2 and even RX1.
While Olympus XZ-10 is trully forgotten here.

The "balck hole" absorbs all the pixels of this "hard work" !

Vladimir Jotov: I don't get where is the focus ...

on the eyes (where it suppose to be) the sharpness is 3-4px, on the teeths 3-4px, on the chair 4-5 px...

On the skin I don't see pore, just 4x4 darker spots

Everything is so blurry on 24M, maybe the photographer should shoot on 15M picture size since this the objective doesn't provide enough sharpness for higher resolution with hi ISO.

How sharp do you expect with a 1855 kit @ iso 3200?
24MP can be amazingly sharp if shot with a "gold ring".

You can check it on the review page of any other camera.
Seems only 1 ev better than 5D2, a bit disappointing.

D800 was "the big picture", but just for 3 weeks. It is so shameful for less MP than a phone now...

On article Preview: Canon PowerShot G1 X large sensor zoom compact (763 comments in total)

Waiting for the "Super G series" for weeks after the rumor, I took 5 looks at this page.
1st look: Even uglier than G12. Not yet, much huger…
2nd look: WOW, a big sensor! Image quality comparable to DSLR with a kit lens! The body is compact for these specs.
3rd look: Still crappy VF, why not EVF? Bottoms on the back are not ergonomically designed, uncomfortable in hand probably.
4th look: A Pany with its pancake is smaller than this! So does Oly of course. And they have much better styling and comfortable grips. So why should I buy this huge black chunky stuf with one lens always there? Only if it is much cheaper.
Final look: $800… Byebye.

To be honest, this picture is below the average. The only thing you proved is how important friendship is.
