EricAotearoa: They're all good. Some are better than others, but nonetheless all are there in the name of fun and creativity. To those grumpy old stick in the muds complaining, just relax and try to enjoy the moment. Have a look under the cushions of your couch, or maybe down the sides of your seat, you might find that your lost sense of humour is around there somewhere. For those that ask what these have to do with photography, well, duh! It's pretty blooming obvious. Now smile and say weez.
;) well said Eric
The wifi is soooo useless !!! I tried it and all you can do is press the shutter change from video to photo and zoom.... And no setting at all !!
Let me explain :
You can't set it manually !
Even if you set up all your settings and then turn on the wifi it will still shoot in auto mode.... and the wifi range is pathétique too... I will say up to 5m (I tried taking picture with my Rx100 on my DJI phantom for a job and it lost it after less than 10m away...
I mean if Gopro does a better job with the wifi how come sony is incapable of doing so ?
Thanks for your review.
I can't really understand if you have full manual control in video mode…
And what do you mean by it's aweful at 24fps or 25 ? the rolling shutter or the quality in general ?
I'm torn apart between that one and the new 5300…. moire might be an issue with the new sensor of the 5300 with le AA filter gone…
I would love to hear back from you
Juan Robert: Une optique au piquée ahurissant, même à pleine ouverture !
Quelle dommage qu'il n'y ait pas d'autofocus, quant au prix, on préfère fermer les yeux...
Here is in ENglish:
What an amazing sharpness even wide open, ,too bad that there is no Auto focus and regarding the price we rather close our eyes…
Cheers from France
You never tell us what ISO settings you shoot at in low light mode so how is that helpful ?
big cloister of dead pixels visible in that last visible video sample…. in the center…argh
Artistico: Shame the RX-100 doesn't have a 10 (or at most 12) megapixel sensor instead of the pointless 20. It would have been so much better in terms of colour, dynamic range, noise, half file sizes, and basically the same practical resolution as it is more lens-limited than sensor-limited.
exactly my thought... but those nikon 1 don't seem to be much better with 10mpx sensors....
Correction : it does not allow full shutter control in video... it is stopped at 100/1 so shooting in low light is a pain
Zvonimir Tosic: Ah, all right, let's see how many comments will be around "Why K-3? It isn't enough to save Pentax anyway.", "Does Pentax have any lenses?", "Too late!", "FF is the only way to go …".
Etc.
Asnastigmat is right... i would have gone to Pentax if only they had a full frame (which for me means the futur)
You know the fuji sensors are nice in low light but they are never sharp. Even the RAWs are being stripped off noise in order to create an illusion of amazing high ISO performance... it does remind me of Sony's JPGs
It would be nice if those samples shot would be in RAW...
But I know that there is little difference in Fuji's raw and JPGs...
I'm trying to like Fuji but I really can't...just look at that girl's portrait... there seems to be not much details....
Cheers and thanks for posting those
chj: WTF the price is ridiculous, you can just get a RX100
Exactly my thought !! hahaha insane !
I don't get why this is better than a normal point and shoot cam with Wifi..... arfh !
(IMGP2201) super soft images... at iso 100.. really ??

Peiasdf: How is the removable battery a boon to the environment? It promotes copious consumption. People will be multiple back-up battery and never use them. When the phone is outdated all will be throw out. It is not like you can drop in a S3 battery into S4 or S4 into S5.
Integrated battery last longer because it is less affected by the environment and never really discharged. They are also more likely to be recycled with the phone than just sit in a drawer somewhere.
I wish my iPhone 4 could have its battery replaced.
it's a silly thing not being able to.
I agree with mrsfixit.
I'm currently looking for a replacement juste because I spend my day hooking it up to a power outlet...
So waisting a phone because of a battery.... helllllo we are in 2013 !!
luisflorit: It is actually a shame that not every single DSLR offers this as a default feature, not even modern flagships with video, and you have to shoot with a phone! For example, the Oly E5 doesn't have timelapse. Still, it is not very hard to make timelapses with it: http://luis.impa.br/photo/1204_varios/nuvens-cristo_timelapse_EV-2.0_JN-120407-E_21672-22915a.avi
But shooting several of these movies will ruin your shutter.
my D800 does it and so does the D700... so i'm pretty sure that the whole Nikon lineup does this... but I prefer to use the 16$ remote that I bought from amazon cause doing it without drains the battery big time... I shot for 4-5h with a photo every minute without the remote and I shot 5h with a shot every 10sec and had more than 60% of my battery left
ps The nikon V1 does the whole process and creates the video internally
Cheers
Plakanina: about three decades ago now on a pool fashion shoot a model and photographer were killed when one of the strobes hit the surface of the water. I am very surprised that the equipment was secured in that way. They were very lucky!
three decades.... time to move on. I'm supprise that it even happen in the first place. And the video only show little of how he secured it.... so cheer up and enjoy the picture cause apparently you ain't going to create one like that.
Cheers from France
