Well, I have a point and shoot and now I want to have more techniques available with more image quality. So I guess for my level a6000 is a cheap but excellent camera.

acid592: If previous versions' f value is 2.8 at 70mm, does it make sense to talk about it as being better at low light.Or am I thinking nonsensical.

Thanks for replies.

abolit: no criticism intended, but if everything of this camera comes out in focus (can't see any depth of field samples) would it be better just to carry a smartphone instead? Really, what's the reason of having a camera like this besides my Note 3 cellphone?

Maybe he meant that there is not much artistic difference.

Invent something so that we will start talking about 0.1 f-stops and x200 optic zoom in compacts :) .

Thanks for answers! :)

Good ones seems to be very expensive for me I guess. But any idea which lens can make it a better alternative to RX100.

Thanks Miwok. Do you have an idea which lens can be best for it? Considering I am not thinking about zooming much.

Thanks for all answers. I was not thinking about buying any other lenses. I should consider all those factors now.

Yep, it seems there is a relation with focusing and sizes of sensors or lenses. But maybe nanotechnology can bring super sharp and high zoom cameras. And maybe there can high spectrum sensors including infrared or ultraviolet for example and then use it for some improvement in visual image. It is easy to imagine, but I am not sure if it is physically possible.

acid592: Some members wrote as if f value is related to sensor size (if i understand right). I think f 1.4 always gets in more light than f 1.8 independent of the sensor size. Right?

So with same shutter speed. Sony's RX100 will have more light on its sensor at f1,8, than Panasonic LX7's at f1.4.

Thanks for the reply. I always thought f-stop values are absolute values. Making the communication and thinking easier.

Seems like light sensitivity will become much much better. But when?

If there is no loss of any information coming into the camera. Sensor size and lens quality will be the only determinants of quality I believe.

(unknown member): what a pity... no touch screen shooting.
Imagine if it does, you can then shoot from any angle with that swivel LCD.
Deal Breaker

Will you spy on people from keyholes without a need to bend?
Hehehe just kidding?
