Mulder_: I am reading a lot of forums about totally different topics, why is it that photographers are the worst people i come across in the internet. Canon/Nikon owners are worse fanboys than Apple owners... jeeeez, get a grip, let people have their opinions, discuss the camera and stop the hating, it is embarrassing!

back to topic, does anybody know if the 5D3 has a built in speedlite transmitter? The optical version to control the 430EX & 580EX flashes? Or did canon removed this to promote the new radio transmitter?

bummer, I really like how my 60D controls the flash, it is very convenient just take it off and place it somewhere. I know, the 60D uses the popout flash to control the external flash, but the speedlite (not the new one) transmitter must use something else, probably IR? I always assumed the 5d had that built in... guess i was wrong.

NigelMoore: Personally, I would have preferred two CF slots, as has finally been introduced to the 1D range, instead of CF/SD. I don't see the point of that. And I'm amused to see the Direct Print button hasn't been retired (although at least it's multi-function).

If I cannot afford/justify the 1D-X I will at least be ditching my 40D and going FF this year. :)

i'd expect they finally retire the bulky CF slot

anyone saw the prices of the new accessories? $850 for a WIFI card... WTF?!

edit: does it still have an optical speedlite transmitter build in? this is one of the most convenient features for me, pop flash off keep on shooting.

tiberiousgracchus: Looks Grand !

+1 really disapointing, especially 2 years from now when all other models will have USB3 but 5d owners have to wait another year or two. It looks like they built this camera 1-2 years ago and held it back to wait for nikon to release their d800.
