I like that adding a functional tilt screen is considered going backwards and doing a Leica, when Leica never have and most likely never will do something like that.

Came too see some funny jealous people in denial about the existence of range finders in order to compensate for not understanding photography.. was not disappointed.

ybizzle: The Sony RX100 series cameras pretty much made these niche 28mm APS-C cameras obsolete. RX100V for example beats this in every way and only comes up short in the low light dept. Even then it can hold its own up to ISO 6400.

Lol, yeah right. Those of us that has said from the beginning that there are strengths and weaknesses in both cameras are the cult.

Not the once that start thread after thread after thread about a camera they have never used, call everyone that doesn't bow to the Sony God an idiot and when presented with facts attack language skills and other irrelevant nonsense.

Yeah, they are the good guys... lol..

I did a popular 6 camera blind test where a couple of thousand people answered which colors they liked best. Ricoh won with a huge margin. And almost no Ricoh users took part in the poll.
Take from that what you want..

They where.. yawn..

The Sony is too slow imo, don't care even a little if some cultist doesn't agree. I buy cameras that I like to use, not the one a couple of spec hunters preach about.

The Sony is to slow imo. Both in operation and focus. But for flowers and trees it's probably fine.

Came to see if my suspicion about non photographers and spec hunters was true. It was. Not even a fun wooden toy can pass by without them expressing their insecurities.

Funny and sad.

terryreid: Not impressed I had two Q's and returned both of them. It is not a bad camera but there are better options and if it didn't say Leica on it few people would shell out five grand for a camera with so many shortcomings.

Fast accurate autofocus without eye-focus not to mention animal eye-focus for starters.

The upcoming A9 II or current A7rIII smoke this camera and with a 35 2.8 ZA are the same size and weight with a thousand more options and versatility.

I cannot think of one area where the Q2 beats the a7rIII unless owning an overhyped "Leica" trips your trigger.

eye focus.. what a joke. Pretty much all cameras have had it for almost ten years. Its just that Sony repackaged it, bought some trips to reviewers and voila. Its now a "new" thing.

PieterB: I can't remember the last time I saw a Leica in the wild. I don't think they sell that many in Europe.

The Leica Q was sold out world wide for nearly two years. Leica is the only camera company besides Canon that was profitable following the crisis in 2008. Long story short, they sell faster than they can make them.

mahonj: Nice swirly bokeh.
Probably could be done in software which would be a lot cheaper, though not as stylish.

Not to mention the sloppy results.

Slow internet at the office ;) This lens has been available for preorder together with the Fuji version for months already.

BTW, if its anything like the Fuji version (which I have) it will be a decent alternative.

justmeMN: The body is "entry level" but almost all of the RF lenses currently available, or planned for 2019, are big, expensive, L lenses.

To use a same brand comparison:

A 51mm equivalent Canon EF-M lens is priced at $479.99

A 50mm Canon RF lens is priced at $2099.00

Not true. It not only works as good as on an EF camera, it will in fact work faster and more accurate.
Again, lots can be said about the camera. But the availability of lenses is better than on any other camera through the existence of cameras.

Lobbamobba: Wow, every time I think the Sony inferior complex can't get any worse the fanboys manage to top themselves.

There are positives and negatives to all cameras and no camera is objectively "better" than another. It all depends on user needs. And that is a fact.

Anyone who claims otherwise is not a photographer or a liar.

So true.

You are still wearing defensive glasses. Try again. Read it carefully, what other word is in there...

Rubber Dials.
I didn't even mention Sony users in my original post. Read again without your defensive glasses on and see if you can find the word that separates Sony users from.. well..

I enjoy the old:
- How do you know if a guy is a Sony shooter?
- No idea.
- Don't worry, he is going to tell you all about it.
