Spomeniks: Interesting. I wonder if there are any benefits to switching to this one vs staying with the other established apps?

The benefit is for Google. The more info you give Google, the better for them.

tonyreidsma: I'm sorry if this is spelled out somewhere, but I can't, for the life of me, find easy instructions for getting a Part 107.

I spent a fair bit of time on the Gov't website but it's just way to confusing, and links taking you all over the place.

Anyone have any info on getting the Part 107?

I really appreciate your help.

dmartin92: Just out of curiosity, is it legal to fly a drone in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, near the Blue Bridge, early in the morning ?

I ask the question not to be annoying but just to know: does the sample footage really represent a realistic representation of the things you could do with this drone, and remaining within the parameters of legality ?

Interesting. I live in Holland, and I would dare say most of the footage would not be considered legal, but I'm no lawyer (thank God).

From what I know, you can't fly if within 5 miles of an airport, helipad, or over people, and with the Hospital within a half mile of where he shot the footage, I'd dare say he was not legally flying.

I never said they sell info. They bought Flickr for the data.

Thoughts R Us: If you want to be enterprising, you can look at this and say, wow, what a great stock to own. Here we have a proven business that is its industry leader, with great growth, and a guaranteed revenue stream. More and more we are living in an age of multimedia and imagery, and Adobe makes the leadings software tools to create them.

Or you can complain and give yourself one more thing to whine about.

The great ESPN sports guy, Stephen A Smith, has said "Fair is a place where pigs go to be shown off..." So again, you can make this work for you, or can simply be negative. The choice is up to you.

I read his post, but it doesn't seem to be defending Adobe, but more so, he's defending the free market and capitalism, which should not need defending.

I bought Apple years ago just before the release of the first iPod, made lots of money and sold it. Then I bought Microsoft when they fired the CEO who's name escapes me, and have more than doubled my money.

In hind sight I would have bought Adobe also, but there's always the would have / should have.

I have been asked by clients throughout the years if I can shoot drone footage for them, which I've always said no... well, I have a new client and I knew they would want drone footage (construction company), and I gave in and said yes all the while I was searching online "how to fly a drone?"

Ended up buying the DJI Mavic 2 Pro with the flight package (or whatever it's called).

After a few flights I have to say, it's very quiet. I mean, VERY quiet! Once out about 100 feet you can't even hear it. Now, I would never fly it near wildlife as they would certainly hear it, but I was pleasantly surprised at the stealth of this little thing.

tonyreidsma: I have a half dozen SONY bodies (A7R II) for my business / paid work, and I am glad to see SONY doing so well. This means I can rely on a company to be there for me for a long time.

Congrats SONY, keep it up.

I also have a couple FUJI XH1 bodies, and I hope for their success also.

Perhaps, but one thing Fuji has that Olympus does not is the "brand" that Fuji has built over time. That brand has a persona that has a following. Time will tell.

I'm currently editing photos from a job last week, and I can tell you, the Fuji colors are so much better than my A7R II files, and yes, I did have the WB the same on each. I don't understand how they do it, but the Fuji colors are no joke.

Some want a small compact fast focus lens.

I conceal carry a 380 while others carry a 9mm. My 380 costs more than many 9mm. I choose to carry a 380 because I want a small compact firearm even when I can get a 9mm for the same or less money.

We all have reasons for choosing what we choose.

I said why I would want that lens. It’s not like our future is hinged by what lens we choose. No biggie.

:-)

And by the looks, 400% the size.

I’m not defending this lens, it’s only a lens, but this lens has its place. Small, fast focusing, WR, and inexpensive.

Mateus1: All f/2.8 images look quite soft even in the center. Maybe it's because of the pre-production sample but I expected better sharpness in the center at f/2.8. It's much much better then Sony 16/2.8 that is "crappy king" but still I am a bit dissapointed.

Ugh. I posted on the wrong thread. Sorry
