Mr PapaBear: It sounds like they are worried about Panasonic and trying to grab attention.

Panasonic already has the best video ILC around (according to DPR), and now they have a FF video monster coming in the spring.
And guess who is known for multi-aspect ratio sensors? Panasonic.

@pannumon

I hope so.

the panasonic S1R is not a contender with a rumor of it costing $4500
I cancelled my a7III order the next day after reading the annoucement of the ff (S1R) but at that price, they can keep it.

anything that has leica involved has a price boost of 100%

Tony Northrup: Future comment summary: HOW DARE YOU review a pre-production camera! Nikon is obviously going to fix the focusing before release. You're clearly just Sony or Fuji or Canon shills. <Some other reviewer> says it focuses great, so you clearly don't know what you're doing. RTFM. Did you even try custom setting B4? I also own a 1DX II, a D5, and seven copies of the a9, and my Z7 focuses better than all of them combined. Real photographers don't use autofocus; Ansel didn't need it, and neither do I. Literally zero pro photographers use AF, and this is a pro camera. Also, the single card slot is better because having two card slots doubles your chance of failure.

dont go posting to NR, tony. everyone hates you there.

@PhilDunn

so youre the representative for the population of the us?
youve done the nationwaide research and can confim you know how many have purchased the phone when they couldnt really afford it?

"Here in America a significant portion of the population, if not most, lives paycheck to paycheck"

retarded statements by people here

vs the rest of the world who are given millions at the beginning of the year and dont work? so all those who live paycheck by paycheck never bought an expensive phone? weird how apple sells very well in the US. so only rich folks buy it? that would be an idiotic thing to think.

A person who is poor may prioritize a phone purchase over anything else.

I dont live in the US now. but over here, people pay with cc payments.
you dont know how people deal with their finances, dont even comment for the masses. youre just assuming and you have no idea.

@Fly18

so if anyone thinks a product is overpriced, that means they cant afford it?

EVERYONE knows of MANY products, sold in the WORLD, that we think are overpriced and CAN afford it, but dont feel its worth the price and well buy something that gives better bang for the buck

im shocked by your idiotic statement

on paper the seagates are really tempting. good specs and good price. its the reason I bought 4 drives.
2 of them died before the warranty and were replaced and one of those died as well. I have given up on seagate. I also dont like WD but not much choice today. I loved hitachi drives. shame they sold it to wd. its not the same quality.

actually the sigma 14-24 ART leaves the nikon and tamron behind by a very good margin. read reviews and see how well it performs.

shmn: I don't think "brave" is the best word choice. Nikon acted out of necessity not "bravery" and they don't need to be "brave" with upcoming choices but "smart". Remember, no matter what the US Supreme Court says, corporations are not people.

all they had to do is make a same spec or better A7III / A7rIII and half assed it like the Df with crap af module, 1 card and no video with high price to boot.

. and I was looking to get one. I hate sony but have no choice to get the a7III for a video camera I need. also heard the cipa rating for the battery is 300 clicks.

this is odd as the en-el15 is a stellar battery
I really hope nikon succeeds with these. they should have gone all in with specs and even take less profit per camera but get them moving out the door. get people into the system. dont know where they got the 35/50 $600 price tags though. thats crazy

@cbphoto123

looks like ill be going with the a7III
I was looking for a good video camera that can also do stills.
was looking to stay in the nikon system.

that 1 card slot is a big problem for me. I had a card fail on my d700. it cost me a lot of money and worry and diarrhea to get only part of the images recovered. I also know a photographer who works with videographers who also had card issues. I cant take that chance again.

ill wait for gen 2 or the d760 and then sell the sony. im not moving completely to sony. this is just temporary

Dylthedog: Adobe is on my AVOID list after they abandoned my desktop version of Lightroom. I'll continue to avoid the company as best I can, thanks.

Bitter? You bet. Do they care? No.

Do I care that they don''t care? No.

But I'll enjoy avoiding them, and that's what's important to me. Oh, and I'll also enjoy telling everyone why they should be avoided for years to come :-)

bb fell and nokia fell and ms (wm) fell. every giant can fall. adobe is a veteran amongst other editors but over time they polish their software. notice how many likes OP got. which says, many people are hating adobe. actually by stats theyre very hated by people.

I left adobe last year. I use acdsee pro and affinity. we dont use adobe in our house. I moved 2 of my friends to those as well. there are other great editors besides what I use but over time, the large adobe user base will diminish and spread to others. its inevitable.

and to many here, there are adobe reps here trying to downplay negative talk against them. actually all mfr do it. its not like it costs money to open an account and post.
