  • Replied in Same....
LOL, I didn't realize you posted it. Now that you mention it, one may very well have a slight de-centering. Didn't notice that before. I still think the right is the R5, but knowing the lenses ...
  • Replied in Same....
They are the same size, but one is clearly sharper. Again, it could be a lens difference but I suggest looking for the resolution line charts and looking for the level in which you can discern ...
  • Replied in My Guess
I guessed the color cast on the right was the R5, but validated what I thought with the resolution scales. The one on the right has a higher resolution sensor, or better glass.
  • When I read the reviews, it mentions the PD port is the USB-C port only. Check the manual and confirm it. If so, make sure your using the PD compatible port, not the "iSmart 2.0" ports.
  • Replied in Try DPP
To me, it sounds like you have an issue with Color Fidelity's profile, not the camera's. Check it with DPP and you can see how Canon designed it. Not even Adobe can duplicate the Canon look, which ...
  • Its in the manual, but it is definitely masked or hidden, on page 286, it states, "you can start movie recording by pressing the movie shooting button in still shooting mode" then "Movies recorded ...
  • I obviously don't have a crystal ball, but seeing what looks to be R5 components (card board and possibly main board) on the R3, as well as a theoretical similar amount pixels being moved around ...
  • That's a great question and one I too, would test, and damn what the internet tells me. Personally, I believe it would work, but I also think it would depend on how far you pushed it to the limit. ...
  • I assume it works fine when you remove the cage and any cage related power connections?
  • @SteveAnderson, Fair enough. I also realized I was attacking it from the standpoint of someone who is A-OK with the price, I do understand, not everyone is. But I will say, the R6 does run circles...

  • @SteveAnderson, Sorry Steve, I disagree with that on so many levels. It would be very easy for me to choose a R6 over a 5DIII based on nothing other than AF. But the speed, buffer, DR, noise...

  • @ed, The R5 already can do it on one of the most CPU intensive modes, Canon just choose to not allow it for other modes. 8K RAW to the CF Express and 4K HQ to the SD was always available. I'd like...

  • Replied in Good decision
My link was referring to refurbished. Used, returned, repaired by Canon and warrantied for the normal 1 year by Canon USA. By far, the best way to buy "used" gear. Also note, most gear is ...
  • Replied in Good decision
The whole time I'm going through the original thread starter, I'm thinking... one of those pieces of equipment is broken. In my 15'ish years shooting Canon, I think I've seen one error code, and ...
  • Replied in Eye Control
I read something that said it would effectively use your eye to choose a zone to focus in. Personally, I think this will work fine, but never be used by many. It seems as though it will interfere ...
  • This is not a problem for me. I find this is the best Canon system when it comes to focusing on small dots in the sky. I did, however, have to change my approach. You simply can't use any of the ...
  • I have a self built PC with a 2 year old processor and 3 year old GPU and I have no issues editing and managing the 5Ds or R5 files. Is this a problem you are having or are you assuming it based ...
  • I was surprised he'd consider the Nikon and Fuji consumer level super zooms, but not Canon's. That would have put him in an R6, with his current 17-40L and the RF 24-240mm, for $1387 out of pocket....

  • Canon offers a HEVC codec for DPP or some other editor(s), however the RAW editor (Cinema RAW Development) they offer, I still haven't figured out.  After downloading the Canon Avid/HEVC codec I ...
  • I think all the 8K uses H.265 and Canon Log as well, just not 100% sure all Canon LOG files do it. However if you avoid both 8K and Canon LOG, I think you'll be fine. Also, the Red button is ...
