I looked at a few jpegs and they have ugly blotches in the sky background and also what seems like severe jpeg compression. It's not a pretty sight unfortunately. The lens is also affected by a ...

A good effort, but I think you missed focus by just a little bit.
-
I understand that. I think even back in the days of film photography few people used these fast wide angle lenses wide open, the aperture was needed for accurate focusing. You could try to find a ...

That does look like f/2.8 is very useable. Too bad there isn't a Speedbooster available to convert FX lenses to DX mount and correct for the filter glass along the way. Maybe one day. . .
-
I've used the Nikon 24/2.8 and 28/2 on a Speed Booster on an m43 camera and comparing both set at f/2.8, the 28/2 is better. I've compared the Nikon 135/2.8 and 135/3.5 on m43, with and without a ...

The D700 has a 1.7 mm filter glass on its sensor so it's no real surprise that wide open this causes some issues with legacy lenses, most notably spherical aberration. The question is what happens ...

The main lesson from that poll is not to draw any conclusions from a statistically insignificant sample size.

Like I said above, your other thread made clear that the ZS200 apparently has poor video image quality. I don't think it's a matter of settings. This latest frame grab you've shown has 1/60 ...

Hahaha, but don't we just love mind games here on DPR. ;-)
-
It was close enough when you used a 2.8x crop factor going to the 1" sensor. Much better, thanks!
-
You're making the same mistake Bill. The lens in question is a MFT 180° fish-eye, not a full frame lens.
-
Well then, if you want it then just get it, it doesn't really matter much on which features you will be upgrading and on which downgrading. They are both capable cameras.
-
In my opinion that's not an upgrade, more a lateral move. What are you trying to achieve?
-
I saw your other thread here: https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4274349 I think you have the correct technique but the ZS200 video quality is poor. My image above was with the G80 and as you ...

As I said, it depends on the camera. What camera do you have? Have you looked at the manual? Personally I think Panasonic cameras are really good at this. The attached image was made from a 4K ...
-
Have you checked that the shutter speed wasn't too slow for sharp pictures?
-
You forgot to take into account the MFT 2x crop factor.
-
G85 viewfinder is much superior to that of the GX85 and GX9.
-
Will you be using manual focus? The 20/1.7 has a rather loud focus motor. Unless you don't care about the sound at all, I wouldn't recommend it for AF video. Otherwise it's a great lens.

It depends on the camera and the 4K settings it allows. In regular video the shutter speed could be rather low like 1/50 or 1/60 so that anything moving quickly will be blurred in the individual ...
