Michael Ma: Look at all the detail the 5D Mark IV missed by having an AA filter. Tsk tsk.

As someone who uses Pentax cameras I thought you'd understand the difference between the K1 pixel shift and the implementations of Hasselblad and Olympus that simply mirror what you can do with Photoshop to create higher resolution images.

Bringing up pixel shift is very relevant when discussing AA filters if you understand what is it is doing and the effect on moiré.

@ET2, so it takes a $43,000 medium format body to best the K1 in shooting a studio still life?

I don't doubt the D850 is a more versatile camera but not the best and more than double the cost of the K1.

Now add the Pentax K1 in pixel shift mode and see what really is there. For further amusement bump the iso 1600 too, all the other become charcoal drawings ;)

Do we really need a shot of someone making yellow snow ( Image 7) or are you saying this camera p*sses all over the competition?

Hi Rishi,

Try using BlueScreenView to identify the cause of the crash/restart http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

jukeboxjohnnie: or you can just go buy a canon 6d at a bargain price now.....

But why would I want to compromise my photography by buying a 6D?

Zvonimir Tosic: And DPR recommends … Nikon D7100?
Gosh, both 7DII and K-3 are far superior machines, kings of this category. Both in capability, ruggedness, and one in price too.
And we are supposed to trust DPR’s ability to acknowledge truth and facts?
Good Lord, what is going on with this site?

Funnily enough I have a K3 and did the same with the 7D, the D7100 was much better but still not as good as the K3 ergonomically.

Justin Francis: Pentax really can't afford to waste resources to come out with such a flawed concept. They really should have canned the Q series and started again.

Please tell me you're not a doctor as you don't know your a___e from your elbow and have clearly never picked up Q to make such a comment.

2PK: ROFLMAO! 3 years ago Sony released the Alpha 850, full frame, 24mp sensor, less than $2000 and barely a word was said apart from a little known Barnaby Britton praising Sony for doing so.

Then Nikon announce the D600 and are heralded as the saviours of the photographic world despite being late to the affordable FF party.

As for the high iso low noise performance there are already cameras out there that cost less and peform as well if not better. So will all the Nikon fanboys put their toys back in the pram and quietly but quickly please leave the buidling, and if the Canon club could just join the tail of the line too please.....

jdh99,
I did say as good as or better, the difference between all of them is marginal and in some tests some cameras perform better.
The amount of noise in the red channel on the D600 is shocking compared with lots of other cameras.

Ok in an easy to understand graphical format for you;

Sadly Canon don't have anything that comes close below the 5dMk3.

BTW no one said anything about FF in terms of ISO/noise performance.
