Father Bouvier: I have this thing, only under the name of Neewer. I paid about $20+ a year ago for it.
It's not a bad idea, those antennae are flexible so you can adjust them for a shooting situation. They don't emit a lot of light, but I found them useful not only for macro, but for portrait fill light as well.
But the quality of manufacturing is horrible. Some buttons started working unreliably, some numbers/bars on LCD started flickering, some don't work anymore.

I bought the same one (i.e. Neewer) and it didn't even power up so I couldn't tell how much light it emitted. Given your comment, I think I'll pass on buying a replacement. I liked the flexible arms, but the rest of it was really cheap/poor quality. Now if someone could manufacture a high quality one but with those same type of arms, then it would be fantastic for macro.

I received the email from NIK today that they had been acquired by Google. This is depressing. I have three of their plug-ins and was considering the entire suite in the next update. NIK is by far my favorite photo editing software and has increased my productivity greatly. Now I cannot envision any future for the product other than phone and tablet software. What interest would Google have in continuing developing desktop photo editing software?

I guess this is the long goodbye.
