On article JVC introduces GY-LS300 4K camcorder with MFT mount (79 comments in total)

I'm betting low dynamic range like their rest of their camcorders. I've bought quite a few of their upper end models and have always been impressed with their innovation and quickness into market- but always disappointed by the lack of dynamic range.......I truly hope this one delivers.

It's actually not completely harmless......I initiated a return on a new Panasonic GM1 I just received from Amazon on reading about Panasonic abandoning the m4/3 format- didn't want to be stuck with a camera with a dead format- only to learn it was a "April Fools" posting........leave that to the unprofessional sites- this is an "information" site and shouldn't be posted, it lacks integrity.

The Smartphone has killed the camera market and I see no resurgence coming......same for the camcorder market- the Smartphone is what everyone carries and uses for their photography needs.....only enthusiasts and pros will continue to desire the higher end models.

Considering the worldwide growth of m4/3, surprised they don't offer this len for that system- it would easily be the largest focal length available and would surely be popular with m4/3 shooters....ashame.

I really like the look of this Nikon but am somewhat disappointed in the image quality as posted by the sample studio image for comparison. My Oly OMD EM5 easily beats it and as such I can't justify the expense of the DF (even though I truly like the look of the camera itself)......I truly hope the sample picture is out of focus as it looks too soft......big let down .......I think the Sony A7 & &r will be the cameras to beat this year pending the new GH4 (or whatever it's called)....interesting times ahead.

It should be noted to capture RAW video the camera MUST use SD cards that are rated at 95/mbps and faster of only which the Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB is recommended!

One ugly camera...just my opinion, which doesn't count for much, but I find it ugly!

Great small form factor should be a hit at Best Buy where people will see it's diminutive size and be drawn to it- BIG problem is you'll still need those BIG and heavy lenses to shoot with it..........they should just join the m4/3 consortium and make their own micro 4/3 camera and release their own m4/3 lenses- then they'd really shake things up!!!

If the IQ compares favorably to that of modern cell phones- would be a cool camera- if not- then no point to it really!

(And I agree- the woman on the website holding the camera is absolutely gorgeous!)

Peiasdf: So the image is not a PS after all. $1800 is cheap for a FF. Come on SONY, announce NEX-FF before end of year for $1800 or less and you'll win big.

The VG900 is a winner. This year has become incredible blurring the line between professional high end cameras and these lower cost prosumer models.......hacked GH2's and Blackmagic cameras and the newly announced GH3 and these new Sonys are really allowing prosumers to create professional looking imagery at low price points........now if only Apple would implement native AVCHD editing the world would be nearly perfect!
I'm wondering if Canon, Nikon, Pentax etc/nex adapters can be used with this camera for use with adapted manual lenses like with other NEX models.....shoot without lens mounted mode.
