Jogger: I wonder if we will ever see a true 645 medium format sensor. The one in this is not 645.. the sensor in the "MF" Leica S2 is marginally larger than FF.

" the sensor in the "MF" Leica S2 is marginally larger than FF."

36mm x 24mm in FF and 45mm x 30mm in S.. this is quite a difference...

We will see a phase IQ280 sensor in CMOS in the next two yrs.

mikeber: People may ridicule these "creations" from Hasselbald, but in essence they are a desperate company. How can any medium format company generate enough cash these days? They have very few options left and the future seems dim.
Purists always miss the good ol days, but is making cameras like in the 1970s going to save Hasselblad and Leica?

Leica is doing well financially and makes some great stuff,Hasselblad can survive if the make what the market wants..good backs at the right price, the sony cos chip has worked well for them so far.

Abbas Rafey: This is great camera much better than those MF that make laud noise but actual quality are far way from Pentax I have shot some of them at photokinda and the image quality of 645z was way better than those brands both at high iso and low. My advice to medium format users this was the best MF unless you are paied for there advertisement.

Really.. the Hassy and Phase cmos backs use the same sensor..and they have better glass with a leaf shutter..

MrSkelter: RRS stuff is over-rated and your money helps fund anti-human rights legislation which targets the families and rights of gay people sponsored by the owner. For those who care it's worth giving them a miss for that reason alone. I know I don't want my money going to fund hate.

RRS stuff is overrated by who?? I have used many different heads and tripods and RRS stuff is very high quality..

iShootWideOpen: There is nothing special about any of the Schneider lenses made for the Phase mount. The Hassy H lenses are superior in every way.
While Leica and Zeiss are the Porsche and Mercedes of the optics world, Schneider is VW.

The phase lenses are all made by Mamiya,Schneider only design the leaf shutters..

The Schneiders I have used were good but I prefer Zeiss/Leica and the Tech cam glass is excellent but I prefer Rodenstock..

Photoman: Wait till Sigma release their 85/1.4 lens. 1/4 price and better quality, like their 50/1.4 ART lens.

In no way will the Sigma beat this on IQ..it may come close and for a lot less dough but if you want the best glass then this is it..

Kinematic Digit: Expect a 2 or more year wait for this. Most of my associates that shoot with the S2 have been so frustrated by the timelines for their lenses.

The only one thats been hard to buy is the Zoom... and maybe the 24mm

RStyga: The Pentax 90mm f/2.8 D FA 645 Macro ED AW SR Lens costs less than half of this lens and offers weather sealing, shake reduction, and macro focusing in a comparable -not identical- focal length and maximum aperture.

In my opinion, for non-professional use, it makes no sense to choose the S system over the 645. In many case, even for professional use.

Who cares what the Pentax lense offers? The S system is excellent with a full range of excellent and most of them have leaf shutter options which is unavailable for the Pentax system and for quite a few pro's this rules out the pentax.

The pentax Glass is not bad,the 90mm is the best of the bunch but in no way is it better than S glass except in price of course!

Brian Alpert: i wonder how many terabytes of RAM you'll need to process these 200 mp images in lightroom.

Not as many as you think..32gb would be fine,I process iq280 files with layers (5GB files with layers) and they're no problem with 32gb..

http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/hasselblad-h5d-with-sony-sensor-can-take-200-megapixel-pictures/

Everyone knows its a sony sensor, the same sensor as one one used in the IQ250 and Pentax 645Z.

Boss of Sony: TWO REASONS WHY CAMERA COMPANIES ARE LOSING MONEY: 1. Capitalism is dying (finally), because it is based on faulty mathematics, so it has to end at some point. 2. NOBODY CARES ABOUT PHOTOGRAPHY ANYMORE. The only people who care are the obsessives who think looking at an inferior 2-D representation of something on a screen is better than appreciating the real thing with your eyes in real time. Now that everone has a camera, people are waking up and thinking, what the hell is the point of photography? Why don't I just look at the world with my eyes and stop wasting valuable resources and valuable time doing a pointless activity?

Hilarious...

This will sell, regardless of the Pentax because a lot of people love using the V system and while its expensive its still a lot cheaper than the IQ250..

Besides Leaf shutters are important to some people...

MarcMedios: So... following Leica's journey from real camera to fashion accesory, Hasselblad --up until now the standard in large format photography-- has also become a fashion accesory and "certifies" cell phone cameras in an $11,000 cell phone. I don't know about the Swedes, but at least the Japanese had the inner strength to commit suicide when their dignity was lost.

This is a simple licensing deal and if it helps Hasselblad survive that whats the problem? And Hasselblad is medium format not large and Leica still makes amazing gear.
