Frank Zen: I'll say this. My Sony Xperia's camera is INCREDIBLE! In fact probably the best image quality in all the phones I've had (iPhone, Galaxy, Nexus). I don't know if it's their sensor but the pics are AMAZING! I also own and Alpha that I love as well...

@ martinot

I don't think Canon use Sony sensors in any of their products.

Petka: Looks slightly softer than Nikon D810 to me, also bit less DR. So no quantum leap here, and none was really expected. The difference between 36 and 50 Mpix is actually quite small, only 18% in linear resolution.

Still, Canonists have now finally something they can show in public again…

Is there really any reason to use MF backs anymore? IQ180 does not look any better either (bit better DR only).

IQ180 file looks cleaner of moire, and skin tones are excellent for those who shoot portraits!

zsedcft: From what I can tell, all of these cameras will do an amazing job now. Any difference between D800/D810 and the 5DSR (which sounds like a fast SEAT hatchback car) are going to be pretty much imperceptible once you have lost resolution through virtually any 35mm lens.

I'm glad Canon are still making sensors. Sony need competition or they will stop spending as much in R&D and we will all suffer. Dynamic range is still a problem for Canon, but with extreme scenes I still have to bracket on my D800. It would probably make a tangible difference to me in about 1 in 50 shots - and even then it would be irrelevant to a client.

With this release I feel like we are at a point now that all the fanboyism should stop. Canon, Sony and Nikon have cameras with such incredible resolution that you can print as big as your wall, noise free.

Finally that cliche has become true; It doesn't matter what camera you shoot with, it's meat-sack behind the camera that makes the difference.

At this point its more about the Glass...

JameOl: It's an interesting question - what kind of photographers is this camera for?

I've checked Leica Monochrom group on flickr – it could be the answer :-)

@Sannaborjeson "What I'm telling about is that Leica's raw was quite average, not on par with 5DIII or a7r." Seems unlikely..I've seen files from all 3 camera's and the M240 were very nice..definitely nicer than the Canon and not far behind the Sony on DR!!

I'll be using CS6 until it stops working and I use Capture one Pro 8 and LR to process raws,CC is ok as an option but Adope should have continued to offer perpetual licenses to that of us that don't want a monthly subscription!

Adrien S: One of my friends is among last year's winners; and although he received a nice suitcase with an H4D-40 and a couple lenses, he will have to return it some day.
I got to try that gear too, and we both agree to say we'd rather have a 645Z.

645Z is a great camera but not much use if you need leaf shutters and lacks hasselblads very useful True Focus..

Street price will be lowered after the first few months so I wouldn't be put off by the RRP,if the lens produces a low distortion and low CA image then it will be worth the money.

Flare control should also be good and considering the Nikon's 2.8 aperture its worth bearing in mind that this is 11mm which is a fair bit wider than 14mm!

#1 in camera sales worldwide goes to....the ridiculous douchebag, yet again. Yaaaay.

"Canon claims that this new prototype sensor is geared toward use in video production, monitoring, aviation, and space applications."

It's not aimed at photographers...

Kudos to Sigma's management for turning the company around,a few yrs ago the were seen as a brand for people that couldn't afford Canikon's best glass and now they're convincing a lot of people to sell their Canikon glass for Sigma,.

Next up should be the 85 and 135 to finish off an impressive collection of primes.

helltormentor: I have decided to get the D750 and am considering the total cost. 85mm is my favorite focal length. Is 85mm 1.8G a decent glass for a good camera or I should consider the insanely expensive 1.4G?

I owned both, the 1.8G is very sharp across the frame but the 1.4G has better contrast and flare control!!

Adrien S: This Pentax body seems to be such a bargain for the features it offers...
Or at least, it's better than what Hasselblad offers for that price.
Pentax really is making things better for photographers.

Hasselblad offers an extensive collection of lenses and all of them with Leaf shutters, this may not matter to everyone but to people who use flash a lot its a big deal!
