The faces all have the same noses.

Take the D3500, with the very light and rather nice kit lens. Lightweight and compact package, a delight to use, and probably Nikon's biggest seller. Will they give up this market? I don't think so. ...

It would be crazy for either Canon or Nikon to wait to release their systems until they had every base covered. So long as they can offer some workable combinations of cameras and lenses that's...

Don't think there's anything which makes one inherently better than the other. Some cameras are simply designed to be more robust than others. Drop anything from a height onto concrete and there's ...

No camera is too good for a cat pic :-)

My part of Wales has been bedevilled by dull, flat, and often wet, lighting for the last three months or so. Today at least it wasn't wet so headed for Aberaeron harbour on Cardigan Bay. Lighting ...

Had a look at the gallery; South Wales it seems! Recognised Llangors Lake and Llanthony Priory. A lot of the pics I take are for the Geograph Project: http://www.geograph.org.uk/ which aims to ...

What puzzles me is this line: "and though Kodak Alaris is a profitable business, its bottom line after taxes has seen huge losses." How can you be profitable yet make huge losses?

My father was an engineer and used to say good engineering looks good. That allows a lot of leeway. In general I like both the F and S lens styles. With the Z series I think Nikon has gone for a ...

The 24-70 f/4 S is remarkably good value, especially if bought in a kit.

I find that Z6 handling of folders a bit odd (= not what I'm used to). So far I've ended up with a folder numbered 102 and I don't know how it chose that name. And other things. Look at page 161 of ...

For screen use, so long as you aren't shooting in testing conditions, then you'll find that the resolution of older cameras is perfectly adequate. The lowest res camera I still use is the 8mp ...

Same here. Panasonic appear to have done a good job in producing a serious camera which will set a lot of people thinking. Not too surprised; I've always had a regard for Panasonic and the stuff ...

My guess. I don't think mk ii versions of the Z6/Z7 are high on Nikon's list of priorities, although I think we'll see improvements through firmware updates. I think they'll concentrate on fleshing ...

Pretty good. I'm a fan of Panasonic colours, particularly the brown shades, even though I usually shoot Nikon. If the camera overall lives up to the specs then Panasonic has hit the ground running.

Just tried to remove the hood on mine (no filter). It didn't seem to want to come off! Read the manual again to check which way to turn it, and finally managed it, It's obviously a good idea to ...

Makes sense. There's a difference between a non-moving part and a moving part locked down. The locking mechanism must be fairly delicate, strong enough to stop the sensor moving if the camera ...

Would be even cooler if they released 620 film. My kodak compur duo 620 is dying for some.

Not exactly user friendly, is it :-( It would be nice to shove in 2 focus distances, the number of steps you want, and let it figure things out from there. Does Nikon explain what this number you ...

I have 3: 1) The D3100 I still use, because it's a basic camera yet has no vices. I know exactly what I'll get from it. It handles nicely and produces great results; it's a true Nikon. With the ...
