DannyDoi: when everybody sees this phone i hear only : "oooh, its just a phone, the camera its just like every other phone camera on the market !"
but hey, how many of you did look at panasonic cm1? you complain about phone cameras but nobody buyed a phone that have the sensor, the settings and the iq of a (small) camera

so there is no real market for big sensor camera phone so stop complaining that you cant buy a phone with a decent camera because you have your chance with cm1

if there are people that are still waiting for the ultimate cameraphone with a apsc, full frame or medium format camera on it then let me tell you now that you will never see that and more, you will never see even a 1" sensor on a phone again.

cm1 was released 2 years ago and as you see nothing new happened from then

so yes, this kodak is just another phone but branded and disguised as a cameraphone, a sad joke, snapseed as default editor hahaha

thats the spirit! :)
cheers

i payed $700 1 year ago and i didnt want tell you how much money i have but to tell you that i payed this price because i was very sure that nothing better will come and you may see that i was right
if you dont like the OS vers or the memory size thats another story but this phone is not about that
and i dont know why you think that the market price should be $400 as long as you cant buy this configuration anywhere else
the market is going to high prices road on some very poor "cameraphones", see this kodak and also see Huawei Mate 9 Pro rumored at $1300
cm1 dont worth $400, its fine but what do you want to buy and at what price?

jaykumarr: I could not find sensor size any where. The features did not list what are the ranges for S/A/M or abilities like time lapse.
However this Kodak Ektra or Panasonic CM1 is better than iphone 7, which is thin, but you need to bulk it up. Otherwise can break from 5 ft drop into hard floor, will break from 5 ft drop into concrete floor; These cameras will allow you to edit photos you take, but iphone will not allow you to edit your photos from memory card.

Kodak Ektra Key Features
•Two stage shutter release button
•21mp f/2.0 AF PDAF Sony 1/2.4inch sensor* with 6axis ois
•26.5mm (equivalent) f/2.0 6P lens with anti-reflective coated corning gorilla glass
•Dual LED flash
•4k video / Full HD / 720p
•13mp f/2.2 24mm wide-angle selfie camera with PDAF
•5inch Full HD display, 1920x1080, 441ppi, Corning Gorilla Glass
•MediaTek HELIO X-20 2.3ghz deca-core** processor
•3GB ram, 32GB storage
•With MicroSD slot (up to 128GB)
•3000mah (non-removable) “Pump Express” ready for high-speed charging
•USB C, Headphone socket
•AF Object Tracking
•Android V6 (Marshmallow)
•147.8 x 73.35 x 9.69mm (14.02mm at camera lens)

*Sensor could be the Sony IMX230 – 21mp BSI CMOS sensor 1/2.4 inch with 192 PDAF points, 4K video and HDR. (Or the newer IMX338).
**MediaTek MT6797 features 10 Processor cores: 2 x Cortex A72 @2.3ghz, 4 x Cortex A53 @2.0ghz, 4 x Cortex A53 @1.4ghz

you can still find it on ebay i think
and if you were on a market for a cameraphone you could see that cm1 will not be forever around and you should buy it when you find a good price and done deal

BTW, what's the FL?

otto k: Won't anyone make a phone just 3mm thicker? Really, I don't care about 7mm vs 10mm. It would allow for a better camera (enough with 1/3" and the like), a normal xenon flash (LED flash? Yeah, right) and a bigger battery... Plus easier to cool so faster in operation.

Pretty please with a cherry on the top?

On article Quick review: Apexel 8mm fisheye lens for smartphones (19 comments in total)

Hahaha, this review is a kind of joke, some months ago someone from this "brand" contact me on dpr and ask me if i can write a review on the forum for them. They offered me to send this free lens to review:

https://www.amazon.com/Evileye-Professional-Capture-Lanscape-No-Distortion/dp/B018WWD40U/ref=sr_1_178?ie=UTF8&qid=1455526908&sr=8-178&keywords=iphone+camera+lens

At that moment, all the reviews on amazon were like this: "I received this product from the company at a discount in exchange for my honest review" :)
I searched for this brand then i found that the lenses are just branded apexel, they are some cheap no name chinese lenses.

is as much as here at ISO 4000:
http://www.dpreview.com/files/p/articles/2771303457/DSC00153.acr.jpeg

and in 1st image there are some chromatic aberrations around the window frames.
this is normal for a camera like that?

Yes, i saw the raws and indeed that noise is from editing, much too much shadows lifting. Kind of strange to see that in a review. For more opinions on this you can look here:

DannyDoi: It will be nice to see a comparison between RX1R and RX1R2, side by side, in real world, with some crops, to see the difference

Thank you for answering, i saw the studio comparisons, real world may be different. I will like to see in some comparisons a portrait for skin tones, a close-up/macro for details, a high contrast scene for shadows, a low light for noise...
And maybe to put there Sony 7RII, Canon 5DSR and Nikon D810 to see what you miss if you have a compact FF camera.
This way everyone will know what camera to buy according to their needs.
Anyway you dont have any real world comparisons and i dont know why.
Some nice comparisons may be between the top cameras from every range. Like 7RII vs RX1RII vs RX100IV.
