dgrogers: "The lenses are capable of covering full frame sensors, and will be available in Canon EF, Nikon (AE), Sony E and ***MFT*** mounts initially, with the company promising Sony A, Pentax K, Fujifilm X, Canon M, Samsung NX and ***Micro Four Thirds*** at a later date."
This lens will be available in MFT mount initially and again at a later date???
and Petapixel estates it will be available immediately in almost all mounts and formats!
Price will be US$535 and it can be pre-ordered already on Amazon.
Unexpresivecanvas: where are the Art Sigmas?
it's a pity.... the Sigma Art lenses may shine in the A7r
where are the Art Sigmas?
Jonathan Wilson: Can't people just get past the LEDs - you can turn them off if you don't like them! I can actually see a case for them sometimes when shooting children (or when you want to distract the subject).
Yes I realise this is largely a Canon / Nikon site. People were still moaning left, right and centre even when the K-3 was announced. And most of the people moaning have never even tried a Pentax camera. BTW I used to own Canon and I have tried Nikon cameras too.
turning off the flashy lights would'n hurt Pentax sensibility?
I just finished using the automatic dishwasher and after seeing all its flashing lights I realized where "P" engineers got the inspiration for this amazing "photographic" innovation. I am sure the pictures from this camera will be better thanks to all the cute LEDs :)
A masterpiece of technical waste.. doesn't add anything in the quality department, performance (we all know what dpreview thinks about Pentax autofocus technology including the K-3) or the functionality that really matters to real photographers. Just a change in the form, like when they released all those interesting colors in the Q... so Q....
Reminds me of those cheapo stereos from the 80s, full of lights, that some people used to play in the NY metro....
I think I will need to find a new wall with sharper bricks!
Zvonimir Tosic: In how many colours it comes? Just one? Two?
It hardy looks like a fashionable item — it only looks like a today's mirrorless camera. Perhaps Sony should make a small lens with some interesting finish that can appeal more to both worlds.
Leather grip would be a nice touch too. Also engraved logo, not painted logo; gosh, this looks too harsh.
doesn't come in colors because it's not a Pentax :)
