micmol2004: @rhedpixel I'm very much interested in Radiant Photo as a possible complement/alternative to Luminar Neo. Since I use Apple Photos to organize my images, my question is: will Radiant also work as an Apple Photos plugin?
Thank you :)

Not natively, but or Lightroom plugin works fine that way with the Open In or External Editor extension,

Jefftan: Is there different profile to edit pictures?
for example can I edit to a "natural" profile or a "regular" profile ?

Yes, we have Pro for undeveloped photos and Subtle to enhance already edited images. Plus you can customize the AI presets

nosnoop: So what's the relationship between Radiant Imaging and Perfectly Clear?
This is what stated in Perfectly Clear web site:
"***Please note that Perfectly Clear Complete has been discontinued and the newest version of the product is Radiant Photos."
So it sounds like Radiant is more than just a licensee of the Perfectly Clear engine.
And I think you should offer a bigger discount for Perfectly Clear users upgrading to Radiant - on the contrary, Perfectly Clear users have to dish out more to use legacy filters and presets.

Hi... Radiant Imaging Labs is a separate company from Eye-Q.

With that said... we offered a very special deal, and preorder that included more than $200 presets (including the legacy ones). We sent more than ten emails on this front to all Perfectly Clear owners. Feel free to reach out to the support team if you want to redeem.

ausfarmerjoe: @rhedpixel - Further to comments previously there appears to be a bug in the software where the images are mosaicing and applying odd colours just on opening even before applying any corrections.

The Image below is a screenshot from the Radiant Software - unedited Raw file - with the default presets. I have left the before / after slider over the zoomed section

https://photos.app.goo.gl/xEjkxyNXzKG4egm77

You can see the mosaicing is present on the before side before any edits are applied:

For reference I brought the same unedited raw file into both of the other raw processing software programs and confirmed that the raw file does not have this to start with

https://photos.app.goo.gl/KQt2CugAFC8XVdNW8

It appears that the Radiant software is having trouble opening the image before it applies any corrections?

Yep…. Can your OS open the image? Hard to help as I can’t see top bar… don’t know file format, etc. Have you reached out to support yet?

KenTel: Tried running RP trial but get message saying cannot find RadiantPhoto.msi. Have done a thorough search on PC and there is no file with that name on there.
For me this is getting tedious.

You didn’t; get it installed correctly. Make sure Photoshop and Lightroom closed and that you run the installer as an admin.

ray-ray: I rather enjoy the banter about whether Radiant's AI can replace actual manual human post-processing. Although AI is no longer new or cutting-edge technology, it has found its place in many software platforms. While the photography purists don't necessarily have to embrace AI, it would be a mistake not to accept it. I'm old enough to remember the intense debate thirty-some years ago when Microsoft rolled out Windows and the DOS purists were vowing never to accept it. ON1 and Luminar Neo are really gaining in popularity. Both heavily incorporate AI. Radiant is poised to join them. You don't have to like it, but it may be prudent to accept that these software platforms are an important tool in a lot of photographer's toolboxes.

Glad to hear ray-ray
Sending you a DM

Hi Ken... you weren't wrong, per see. It wasn't listed on our site...

From my head of engineering

"Our only hard CPU requirement is AVX instruction set. Every Ryzen supports this (nearly every AMD CPU in the last 10 years supports it)"

AbrasiveReducer: Someone returns from a vacation, and they reasonably should have taken, say, 120 photos, but they actually took 11,000 because...why not, they're free. So, an automatic processor has a lot of appeal. I don't see auto optimizing as ever being totally successful, but maybe I have too much faith in human judgement and not enough faith in computers.

Topaz' new all-in-one program takes an interesting approach. It examines the image and tells you what it thinks needs to be done. A nice concept, compared to being presented with 55 sliders, many of which interact.

A big project, but DPR could do a comparison between Radiant, Topaz Photo AI and DxO Pure Raw. Man, all that artificial intelligence in one room!

Lots of humans were involved in the training of the Strenth and Color sliders which are the two AI adjustments. There is also Scene Detection and other sliders that are image responsive.

ZilverHaylide: Alright, that does it. From now on, all my photography will be done with a manual lens focused at its hyperfocal distance, aperture set at f/8. And my eyes closed.

I'll leave it to AI to decide what to do with that raw material I will have provided to it, and then it'll sign each piece. As soon as it develops self-awareness, it'll undoubtedly claim the copyright, too.

I began my career in journalism. I’ve always been a visual storyteller. But I also had a background in computers and software. Photo and video are my passions and I enjoy all aspects of that including software, AI, hands on creating, cameras, etc. But I appreciate new suggestions… maybe after I sleep. My son just started studying AR/VR in college.

luchs: I downloaded the trial and I have to admit: I like it so far.

The design of this software is clean and I see the result very quickly. I also like the options for the export. For a V1 there are a lot of options to specify name and directory and file naming.

I will be further interested in this software if it provides a powerful commandline interface for easy integration in other software. There should be a way for a complete conversion in the background using simple to implement commands.

Hi Lucha... just meant we're thinking alike and working towards similar goals.

We already have background conversion working in Lightroom and it’s in that plug-in. Just choose export in Lightroom and pick radiant photo as the module. You can hide the application window and have original files go next to original and be renamed. Works great. They even stack with the others in Lightroom n

Also just noticed the weirdest mosaicing and harlequin effects on fine details - if not for other issued below that's a deal breaker - I took a test image and cropped the centre I got this effect https://photos.app.goo.gl/GdDYZQZgfq9CTnxv9

Looks like you cranked up vibrancy or color contrast way too high.. or perhaps over sharpened... Sliders shouldn't always go that far to the right. Feel free to send me the image to review the original.

Personally I prefer Z depth over X and Y

And fortunately its a global world where we can connect and work with people all around it. We got a great engine from the team at Perfectly Clear and we’ve been doing all sorts of new development with a global team.

Because yeah…. We’re photographers…. I can shoot in Manual Mode and I know the Exposure triangle…. Plus a few others skills when it comes to color grading... But yeah… Skynet is scary.

Hi Matchi. AI generated content makes us nervous too.

That’s one reason we don’t have sky replacement or a filter that generates a new toothy smile. We only enhance your pixels. They still belong 100% to you.

But the robot secretly controlling me wants me to rethink my views.

Greg Silver: What's the difference of AI software editing a RAW file and your camera essentially doing the same thing when it creates a JPEG?

For those who love to edit and make an image their own, then this software may not be the best route. But for those who just want to output something more pleasing to the eye than a RAW file and don't care about how it gets done may find this software the perfect solution for their workflow.

We’ll said MatFoto

Or am I biased?

Hi @schus nice to meet you….

Radiant works great with DXO PureRaw. I use it myself and we recommend it in the product manual. The files open great and we do make it better in most cases.

You’re correct… I did USE to work for Skylum. I left at the end of last year.

I am one of the OWNERS and FOUNDERS of Radiant Photo. I did this BECAUSE I was frustrated in the way most software gets made.

Its very refreshing now that I can make an app I am proud of and we can fix things and solve problems.

BTW I am not an ambassador.
Feel free to look me up on LinkedIn and LinkedIn Learning.

I have worked on many Photo Apps in a variety of roles
IPhoto
Aperture
Photoshop
Perfectly Clear
Aurora
Skylum
Mylio Photos

I’d love if you checked things out and tried having an open mind…. But if that’s not as much fun as just insulting me personally…. Go ahead. You do you.

In reply to:

ausfarmerjoe: I have downloaded an evaluation copy.

Contrary to comments below works perfectly fine with my AMD windows 11 PC.

Initial thoughts after a quick play-around:

The defaults are straight out of the Ken Rockwell school of photography - saturation, vibrancy, contrast and sharpening +1000% please.....

....Ok so you can turn the sliders up and down to suit your style preferences and save these as a new default treatment. For landscapes I need to set to -40 contrast, turn the sharepening from 60 to zero, and turn down the Smart edit strength from 80 to 50 and set the saturation -30 then I get a somewhat "normal" image treatment . If I don't do this all the grass and trees end up highlighter pen green - waaaay too much vibrancy applied. Also not sure what is happening with the smart editing Colour slider - the closer to 0 the MORE it turns the foliage bright green the closer to 100 the more natural it looks? Go figure.

Hi

In the upper left corner,.. Click the drop down menu

Radiant Pro is for UNEDITED photos

Radiant Subtle is for EDITED photos

There is also a set called My Smart Presets that you can update and the scene recognition will use.

Hope that helps
