  • If you want (must) have at least 40x zoom there is little choice.  Unless of course the lens becomes ungainly large, complex and expensive.  I only shoot with SZs so 1/2.3 it is, presently. I would ...
  • And the SX60 body with Digic 7 would be nice.  I'll take 2.
  • It's easier to let someone else do it then sue the thief and the publisher.  :-)
  • Some very nice photos displayed here and very good to have the original size for a close look.  I have always uploaded full size and only mildly concerned about theft.  Not likely to happen but if ...
  • It's actually an SX40 shot and a good one.  Having both I do believe the IQ is equal.
  • I think he gets the point. This is a huge camera with a tiny sensor. The zoom range is preposterous. I only use super zoom cams and can tell you tele ends over 50x is getting into unusable for...

  • You might try dialing in some minus exposure comp to avoid highlight blow out.  I have found with most AIO cameras that -1/3 EC or even -2/3 helps in full sun.  Just a thought. :-)
  • Yes, even though the "originals" are not full size they are good examples of what the S100 can do. For such a tiny pocket sized camera it does amazingly well. The somewhat large 1.17" sensor ...
  • Anyone's guess at this time.  Perhaps by September there will be something new in the SZ line.  I believe the race for the extreme zoomer is over.  Too big, too pricy, too unusable on the tele ...
  • Yes we tend to focus on equipment and processing here on DPR and rarely on the story behind the art.  When I see a movie I do tend to think about the process.  How did they do that and why?  I'm ...
  • Sure.  Imbedded chips will turn us all into syborgs.  Well that may take a few decades.  In the immediate future we will have the smart watch camera that does it all, if  that hasn't happened ...
  • There are good and not so good matt screens. My semi matt Dell monitor is very good and resolution isn't noticeably effected. My all-in-one Dell glossy screen and laptop are a problem with ...
  • Never have come by a cell phone with a super zoom lens, an EVF, hot shoe or a decent grip. And the good ones are twice the price. I don't phone with my SZ camera but I don't phone with a cell ...
  • A lot of reasons why super zooms (bridge cams) are popular.  For the money they are a very good value.  All in one package makes life simply easier, especially for touring.  Most DSLR style SZs ...
  • Facebookitis and twitteritis are social diseases. The only cure is keep as far away as possible. If eradicated a more virile form will no doubt appear. It's all due to collage drop outs coming up ...
  • Give me a G5X with a 20x zoom (24- 480) f2.4 - 5.6,  Digic7 engine, under $800. and i'm good to go. Not really asking for the impossible here Canon!   Just do it.   :-)
  • A.Y. is surely a real pro. I started digital (12 years ago) with a Canon S2. It had some limitations but for my type of photos (travel and around home) it worked wonders even compared to my DSLR. ...
  • For sure Chrome is on the end of my 4 browsers currently used.  Up front is Firefox then Edge, sometimes IE11 and lastly Chrome.  You didn't mention FF which has been 100%.   Edge has a few negs ...
  • Yes, that old SX50 just soldiers on and on.  Still using it daily.  Also still waiting to see what Canon will do with the SX series.  I still hope for an SX60 with SX50 lens in the $500. range but ...
  • Replied in Canon sx60hs
The SX60 should be marked down nearly $100. from the Canon store.  Personally I had the SX60 and sold it in favour of a refurbished SX50.  Still waiting for the SX70 but losing faith in Canon ...
