  • I am touching 90 and have never developed an interest in gaming. Computing and photography interests, yes but gaming has been proven addictive as are many other activities. The real downside here ...
  • Replied in Email service
Windows Mail is ok but I mainly use my local ISP mail service.  Windows Mail feeds from the ISP but has that MS look and feel.
  • Replied in I don't know
For sure.  I built my first color TV from a Dynakit about 60 years ago.  A lot of soldering, tube replacements and adjusting.  It did work well for the time.  These days I for the most part ...
  • They don't even serve you peanuts?
  • Same here.  That was a big negative for this camera and hard to believe Canon "forgot" to include this.  It's a "give a little- take a little" marketing ploy.
  • Right on.  My laptop is a duplicate of my desktop and try to keep it that way.  Seems to be the most useful back up in many ways.  Of course a regular separate drive backup is always extra insurance.
  • I've moved on from the SZs but still occasionally use the SX50 for it's all-in-one pack.  I had the 60 and 70.  Each sold.  The evf's definitely better but as the zoom range went up  the image ...
  • I do like the KISS principle so I have a newish desktop and a newish 16" laptop.  The old ones were getting somewhat old.  Both desk top and laptop are backed up monthly with the laptop onto an ...
  • Hmm... My Dells don't do SA pop ups.  Just as well and  I may have cut them off.  MS is the exception.  I doubt anything or anyone can block the master.  They do it very well however.
  • I run it monthly on my 2 dell machines and it is, as you stated, very useful.  It lets you know of anything new and urgent as well as scanning the whole system for faults.
  • My posts have this logo in yellow but same difference. It just shows it's my post.
  • Or better still-- Edge.  I can't believe I said that.  ;-)
  • My M50 was only offered with the 15/45 and I did get a fairly good copy.  I later added the 55/200 for ship spotting.  Both zoomers are just good enough.  Latter I added the micro 28.  A very good ...
  • Yes Vernon, I do have a separate, detached back-up.  Everything is duplicated on a laptop and that backed up to a USB drive.  The desktop's HDD is still my main bu.  It seems safe enough but of ...
  • Far from a "do this" response but my XPS 8940 I acquired a few months ago has been a great machine. It come with a 250 gb M.2 but I wanted to replace with a 1 tb M.2 for everything. Not really a ...
  • I went for the top even for the 1 tb M-2 so the price is high in Can. $.   It's the last computer I will ever buy so well worth it.  I particularly like that screen.
  • Received a few days ago aDell 16" 16/10, top end,  Inspirion  7610.  So far 100%.
  • Replied in Windows 11
    Mine's new so no sale here. It's a don't fix what ain't broke deal. 10 minutes.  ;-)
  • I feel that by far the simplest system is to head up folders by year.  eg.  2021- AROUND HOME (or suitable description).  Each year can have the same title and each year is grouped together making ...
  • Picasa. Free, easy and it simply works. And don't be put off by the "no Google support" issue That's a good thing. Just type in Picasa in the search bar.
