Stevie Boy Blue: You’re right about the rabbits not being rodents. Furthermore, as far as I’m aware, meerkats and otters are non-rodent species too. ;-)

The rodents are nota family, but an Order (ie a higher taxonomic group)
The Glires are not a superclass: mammals are a class, hence a sub-group of mammals cannot be a super-class. The Glires seem sometimes to be regarded as a super-order. In any case Rodentia (rodents) and Lagomorphs (hares and rabbits are separate orders within the Glires.

Rabbits and hares are not rodents.

The following are not rodents (members of the Order Rodentia):
- otters, weasels (family Mustelidae, Order Carnivora)
- meerkats, mongooses (family Herpestidae, Order Carnivora)
- possums (marsupials, Order Driprodontia)
- rabbits, hares (Order Lagomorpha)

Congratulations! This was my favourite photo in the challenge. I wish I had lizards like this (well actually, any sort would do :-) ) in my garden!

On photo 21st of March International Day of Forrests in the The Month - March challenge (5 comments in total)

This was my favourite photo in this challenge. I work in forests in the spring and you've caught the wonderful way that the light comes through the young leaves. It's also a nice composition. And you had a proper March link, which you explained in the notes. Congratulations on a wonderful entry, and thanks for posting :-)

As a voter, I would liked to have known more about how this was shot. Was it shot in the wild? Is this a 'captive' animal?

Daffodils in Spring: How can I get this as a portrait rather that landscape?
Thanks

You needed to have rotated the image using some kind of image editing software (or perhaps even in camera). If you'd wanted to change this, you would have needed to withdraw it during the submission phase and submit the new version as a new entry. Hope that helps.

It's a shame you didn't crop this.

On photo Bay Bridge at Night in the My Best Photo of the Week challenge (1 comment in total)

Great subject, but for me it needed just a smidge more room at the bottom (so the bridges reflection didn't touch the end of the frame) or about 20% cropping off the right and bottom.

On photo waiting for an opponent in the My Best Photo of the Week challenge (1 comment in total)

I like this, but it would have been better cropped just below the level of the seat on which the guy is sitting (and perhaps a smidge from either side) to remove clutter that adds nothing to the photo.

Lext, Are you going to collate the final scores (combined across the sets of 5 entries) and post them here so that we know who the 'winner' is?

If you (unfortunately) have the chance to take this kind of shot again, take a couple of minutes to 'tidy' the feathers. You can 'rezip' the feather surfaces to stroking them between finger and thumb towards the feather tip. Tidying the tips of the feathers at the lower middle edge of the wing would make a fair difference.

bettyhilda: Distracting backkground and too dark under cap of smaller boy? Otherwise I like the expressions which nicely illustrate the challenge title.

Thanks. Very helpful.

Anyone any ideas what attracted the lower ratings on this photo?
