Thank you for this recommendation. This one is also available over here for around $215. So that matches my budget. I think the plate can also work together with my Peak Design plate

Looking for a travel tripod for experimenting with longer exposers and low light situation photography during my travel trips. Weight is important. I would like it to be as light as possible for ...

Update: Saw the Sigma 45mm f2.8 is on sale again for $250 new. I got to buy one in Europe new for 340 euro's. Couldn't resist this offer and to try this lens for this price.

Thanks for your insights. I would never carry a 24mm as a one lens solution. 28mm and below is not something I really enjoy for anything than landscapes. But that's a personal preference. When ...

My version is something like this: f2.8 : 28mm - 31mm f3.2 : 32mm - 43mm f3.5 : 44mm - 53mm f4 : 54mm - 78mm f4.5 : 79mm - 114mm f5 : 115mm - 149mm f5.6 : 150mm - 200mm Guess it varies a little per ...

With my A7C having a lens with a dedicated aperture ring is very high on my list. Especially since I shoot manual a lot. Ah that sounds like a nasty lens roulette you had to play.

Thanks for all of the great insights and opinions. I have received more input than expected. I’ve looked at a lot of the mentioned lenses including pricing and saw the following: Mentioned a lot ...

Yeah the Samyang 45mm is out for this reason. Thanks

I've seen my fair share of returns as well with Samyang optics. Not sure if I want to play that game. The reviews are really good of the people that have a good version!

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like a nice small lens indeed! New and used unfortunately the same price as the Sigma 35mm f2 and used more expensive as the Sigma 45mm f2.8. I think I would prefer ...

Yeah guess you and other people in this thread are right for mentioning picking a focal length first. Good tip on the cropping as well. I use both focal lengths extensively when looking at my exif ...

50mm f2 could be interesting. Curious if it will be the size and weight of the 35mm f2. But I guess it could take months or even years for it to be out in the stores.

Happy Sony A7C + Tamron 28-200mm user here for traveling purposes and also use my iPhone 13 pro for day to day snapshots. Don't like the regular lens of the iPhone (26mm ish?) but do like the tele ...

Yes for sure with this price difference. You can use that 250 pounds to have a head start on buying a nice prime next to this zoom.
-
Both lenses are so similar with some reviews saying the Sigma is sharper and some the G2. With £250 as the difference the choice would be easy for me. Sigma is lighter and a whole lot cheaper.
-
Yes it's sharp. Some primes might beat it, but sharp enough for me and it's weight. Check out this review and decide for yourself as well if this would match your needs. https://sonyalpha.blog/2020 ...

If you don't shoot in low light and don't need huge shallow dof the Sony 28-60 is a great lightweight lens. The focal range is very limited, but if you only shoot within these limits that's fine. I ...

This was also one of the reasons I wanted to create a more light and simple kit and went for the Tamron 28-200mm. I became a parent as well 1,5 years ago and you have other things you need to ...
