My Sony rx100ii had a comparable lens range and was worse at all focal lengths.

@Rishi I checked again the various focal length/aperture combinations in the studio scene. Sony is better up to 35mm; at 50mm Sony and Canon are more or less equal; at 70mm Canon is better. Canon then offers 30mm more.

You are right about the studio scene. In the real world scene (see lens comparison section) Sony is better at 24mm and maximum aperture, but Canon seems to perfom better as the focal length increases.
