rrc1967: that's kind of cool but i would rather get a portable 17.3" USB based monitor and call it good. cheaper too.

a little ipad as a second screen would almost be .. well, freaking annoying to switch back and forth from.

My 12.9" iPad Pro (not latest model) has a screen virtually the same size as my 13" MacBook Pro, so it's great as a 2nd display or to mirror the main display but adding touch/pencil input. This is using Apple's SideCar feature but I'm looking into Luna since it has a lot more features and uses.

KrisAK: Do any of these utilities work directly with Safari, or with the FaceTime app on MacOS? (I've got Canon's webcam utility, but it doesn't play well with either of those.)

Hi. Thanks for the info. Does your program work with WebEx on Mac? I've heard that it also doesn't work with virtual webcams.

Sangster: I think this is aimed at well heeled aging Baby Boomers who are no longer interested in lugging around a lot of gear on their travels.

It's not just not wanting to carry a big camera. It's restrictions at lots of places. I just went to NYC for a week - which included seeing my wife perform at Carnegie Hall. I thought a lot before the trip about taking my A33 with my zoom and 35MM prime. In the end, I got an RX100-iii to take. It was the size/weight. But it was also that many venues - including Carnegie Hall - won't allow ILCs so that was a showstopper. Besides the weight and bulk, a full-size camera is also going to be much more obvious and a target of theft when traveling.

BRWAT: I wouldn't touch it. Synology NAS have far more features to ensure a high level of connectivity, are less expensive and can be used as a mail server, web server, plus you can use a billion other apps.

Drobo is a one trick pony.

What 5-bay Synology is cheaper? The 5n2 is $500. The similar Synology appears to be the DS1515 which is $630.

Question: I want to move up from a Sony A33 to a full-frame DSLR. I'm mostly interested in low/natural-light indoor and architectural photography. Given this, what would I miss out if I picked up a used D700 vs. the latest D610? I think 12MP would be fine if they're good pixels!

88SAL: Hmmm is this relevant compared to more.... Camera-ey things. Surely the go-pro series is reviewed to death in it's relevant crowd... Lets stick more on topic? Enough of us whinge about certain products the get neglected or even missed... In favour of an action cam which kets be honest is almost strictly a video genre device.

"shares many similarities" As opposed to sharing differences?

Sorry to nitpick language, but this is right at the beginning and my wife is an English professor.
