Graham C F: I am surprised that so many people add the date to the file names of their photos. It is included in searchable metadata anyway.
Adding a date code prevents having a filename being reused. I shudder to think how many people have all these folder structures and then myriads of IMG_0001s all over their drives.

We split on time ranges because less than 10,000 photos on a single camera is not guaranteed. But this allows us to have 12m photographs all uniquely named, and the hierarchy allows instant access if we have support issues.
IR1234: What is the camera experience like?
Yeah, that kinda sucks to be honest. Sounds like it's no different from the original Mavic Pro, Spark or even the FPV.

How responsive is it? If you hit the shutter, how quickly can you go again for instance? And I don't care for x shot burst.

Meh, one of our 7D2 broke through 4m last month. I posted it on Canon 7D2 Mark II group on Facebook if you want to see the shutter count.
IR1234: What is going on with Sony's skin tones? Look at the black guy and there is a huge difference yet older Sony's are much closer to the Canon look. And the Asian lady has such red rosey cheeks she looks like an alcoholic.
@mikegt, what lie about the colors being bad? The evidence is there right in front of you. Yet some of you cling to this “we reprint the photos”, except the timeline does not confirm that at all. Cameras that were tested at similar times do not show these extraordinarily horrid skin tones. And yes, Sony always wins and get high praise on DPR, it’s what DPR does.

@mikeran, if the images fade, why is the 1DX3 and R3 the same (a year apart), yet the Sony which would have been reviewed at a similar time as the 1DX3 and R6 different? Seems like we're covering for Sony's awful skin tones here by making stuff up.

@waldi, DPR doesn’t reprint the face photos each time they do this comparison, so there is no variation in the scene. Hence wondering why the colors keep changing. Kinda thought that was obvious.

Run that past me again, $3,000-5,000?
IR1234: Great camera, but what's with that chonky looking flip out screen?
Settle down tiger lol
Great camera, but what's with that chonky looking flip out screen?
GodSpeaks: Long overdue.
Next up, put an end to non removable batteries in phones.
Standardize battery sizes and shapes.
How far do you intend to go with standarizations? For instance, car batteries? Surely we only need 3 or 4 types. Car alternators, we could standardise to 3-4 again, how about the indicator stalk - I mean - how many different indicator stalks does the world need for a vehicle? And why is everyone's keyboard so different? Lets just have one standard QWERTY design, and let's have a single design for a keyboard.
Why not go all the way - why do we need different camera mounts? Lets just have a standard camera mount, say M42 with some electrics and call it done? Same camera battery. Heck, why not have the same shutter across every camera? Why not have a standard menu system, and why not have a standard layout on the camera itself across the industry?
Remember, all these things are all good for the consumer.

Logan Mackay: So many people crying innovation. What is so innovative about Apple’s outdated USB 2.0 Lightning connection? They’ve already adopted USB-C for all their other products. This is good for the consumer and for technology.
No one really cares about lightning data speeds, we just use them for charging up the phone.
Michael Piziak: But how is Apple going to continue to create proprietary cords at top dollar premium prices - hoping that you'll lose a cord, or one will go bad, and have to purchase another one from Apple - ???
You know you can buy Lightning cables from Amazon, right?

So, Apple wireless charging only in 2024 then? Looking forward to it.
acuberosm: The Canon 35-70mm f/4 FD AF lens was from 1981, not 1979. I remembered when it was launched.
The 35-70 AF (in 1981) was based on the manual focus 35-70 FD from 1979. HTH
