  • If you are reach limited, isn't that a good thing? But lack of dpaf in 4k is propably the bad thing. (I have M50 but haven't shot any video with it.)
  • I'm not Dan but I think I know the answer: to get more depth of field. Nice photos! 😊
  • 8. I had that "trash" button to change ai servo / one shot, but that didn't work for me. Many times I had accidentally pushed it and I noticed later I was on the wrong af mode... So my trash ...
  • Many primes has better image quality than zooms  and many primes are faster (aperture). But I haven't notice any "lazyness" or "lacklustre" in my pics which are taken by zoom or prime at the same ...
  • Yes, and what's wrong with Ef-m 28mm macro? Great lens too, not sucks, if I'm asked... 😁 (Not exactly alternative to 22mm f2, though.)
  • Did you mean M50 AF is better for birds than Fuji's? I don't know, I haven't shot birds with either one. (I haven't shot with Fuji at all. I almost bought it, just because of 18-55mm 2.8-4 ...
  • I have Sigma 100-400mm. Why I bought Sigma over Canon 100-400mm ii? Because Sigma is smaller (both shorter and thinner), lighter and cheaper. It's sharp, but my 400mm 5.6L prime is better for ...
  • I have 5d3 + 16-35 f4L. I wanted something smaller and lighter for landscape work, because I have also my bird stuff with me. I bought M3+11-22mm and never looked back. I haven't used 16-35mm ...
  • I'm not interested in cropped 4k. In fact I'm not interested in 4k at all. But I bought M50. And I like to take photos with it. Cropped 4k does not make M50's 1080p worse. If 4k is important, M50 ...
  • Replied in M5/M6/M50?
I had M and M3. Now I have M3 and M50. (I have also 7d2 and 5d3.) I'm very happy with M50. Before I bought M50, I was afraid if I would be happy with its external controls, but not anymore, I can ...
  • I have M3, M50 and 270ex (older model) and they are working great. For macro work (28mm), I use mainly cameras own flash, because it's working great too and is smaller than external flash. 😁 (I ...
  • I didn't find much information about this new(er) Sigma with M50/M5 etc. If you have or have tried that lens, please share you thoughts and pics. I almost pulled the trigger and bought ef-m ...
  • Yes, I wouldn't go anywhere without my 28mm macro. And 22mm is also handy in lower light. With these four lenses I could do almost it all - except birds/bif, especially if they are far away... I ...

I just tested M50 + Sigma 100-400mm, seems to work fine (at least for static shots, didn't test any moving yet). Sigma is smaller, lighter and cheaper than Canons. I'm pretty happy with my copy.
  • Thanks Persizi for suggestion, you got my interest (have to try), nice pic too! :)
  • Thanks for your message! I also have 28mm macro and like it a lot. I've got better macro shots with it than 5d3/7d2 and tamron 90 vc (+ 1.4x). The led light of 28mm is handy in super macro mode. ...
  • Nice photo, thanks! Yes, you can. My favourite lens for "artistic" close-up shots of flowers, mushrooms etc. are 50 stm and 22 f2. Of course those bigger aperture primes are better in that kind of ...
  • Thanks Alan!, great I'm now out of my computer couple of days, so watching pics only smaller at my phone. 55-200m seems to have most baground blur. Looks like Tamron's 200mm is more like 150mm??
  • If ISO is high, and photo is over exposured (like this 55-200mm close-up shot is), images look washed out, especially if you are watching them at 100%. Long and slow lenses needs a lot of light. ...
  • Thanks Alan, you are very kind! Nice you took also Tamron here. Based on these photos, looks like 55-200mm (and Tamron too) has a little more background blur than 18-150mm, even if 18-150 has ...
