Would love to see the a7cii with a 36 or 42mp sensor. Probably doesn't make much sense for Sony but that would be awesome.
-
It doesn't have a M next to the G, so people can't get "addicted" to it.

I'm in my thirties and I'm embarrassed by how much you guys are doing. Awesome to read.

Agreed the GM has the nicest bokeh IMO. The Sigma is sharper but images taken with the GM are more appealing to me. A great middle ground is the Samyang - which comes with a bokeh very close to ...

Such a great camera, it's great for us who don't need the latest AF system but enjoy the sensor.

Agreed they are probably the same in terms of IQ. My point was that reading someone saying that he/she is only into GM lenses (and specifically mentioning "not G lenses") - is mainly influenced by ...

You said: " Depends on what kind of look you are after. If you want to take photos of your toddlers with only one eye in focus and everything else blurred, you need f1.4 lens. If you are not into ...

My point was that someone blaming a 1.4 lens because he doesn't know how to use it is not an argument against a 1.4 lens, whichever brand/model it is.

I'm not saying it's not delivering, there is no discussion that it is. GM lenses are fantastic. But when I read someone is addicted to GM and not G lenses, knowing that most people probably will ...

As people said above, only you will know what lens was used to take a photograph. Yes the GM serie is top notch optically speaking, but if it is an "addiction", it means that the marketers and ...

1.4 makes a difference for full body portraits, whether toddlers or not. You just don't need to be right in their face to have half the face in focus, maybe try stepping back a little.

People enjoy their cameras the way they like. Also, most people who shoot manual lenses also have AF lenses. Just because OP wants to shoot enjoy using some vintage lenses, he would need to buy an ...

Vintage and native E mount lenses produce special characters. In the right hands the results are beautiful.

The Zeiss contrast is on another level for sure. The Loxia line up is stunning, you can see also the Distagon 35 1.4 ZM. Nothing wrong with Sony lenses as not everyone wants the "pop" look.

I have a similar-ish kit for travels: Noktons 21, Nokton 35 and Samyang 85. Travelling with primes is great. Just work with what you have on the cameras, no need to overthink and swap lens often. ...

IMO trying to keep it minimal is good. Personally, went with a7rii, Nokton 21, Nokton 35 and Samyang 85. If you're considering a 70-200 for portraits, but like great character lenses, I would only ...

Lived there a few years. I would recommend you visit Shinjuku 'Camera Town' https://trulytokyo.com/shinjuku-west-exit-camera-town/ There are a lot of camera shops. I used to shop at MapCamera, the ...

I mostly travel with a Voigtlander 35. I have an 85 in the bag but it rarely comes out. Keep it simple, one lens, beautiful photos, don't overthink the camera set-up and enjoy the trip!

The only wrong thing is that it's not a Voigtlander
