I love Omegas :) Did you use focus stacking for the top picture?

My Aunt lives in Guernville, which is on the Russian River :( We are holding our breath that she isn't too badly effected.

One thing to keep in mind too is that the maximum magnification of the 24-120 is .39x which means that you can get really nice subject isolation at the longer focal lengths and is also really nice ...

No doubt the 70-200mm is otherworldly, but do you actually travel with it? I travelled thru Italy this summer with my 14-30mm and 24-120mm. I could’ve probably left the 14-30mm at home and been ...

How often do you use 120-300mm for you landscapes? If not very often, I would opt for the 24-120mm and not do the FTZ + 70-300mm. Me personally, I actually use the 70-120mm frequently even with ...

The Pentax lens is a 1:1 macro. Compare both lenses at their minimum focus distances and the Pentax would have much shallower DOF. You can’t use max aperture as the only parameter to compare DOF.

Adding one more opinion to the mix. I had the 28-75 for a while and I really liked it. I found it sharp enough for my use case (granted I am a hobbyist and I am not overly concerned about corner ...

For folks that say the Z6 has better high ISO performance than the Z7, is that really true? Meaning if you normalize both to the same print size, which would look better. i have a suspicion that if ...

I am tagging to see if a resolution is reached. I know I won’t be able to afford a 200-600 ( whenever the heck it is released) so this lens is on my radar.

For what it’s worth, this entire album was taken with the Z6 and 70-300mm combo: https://www.flickr.com/gp/15829740@N06/06Ft546Xc8

An “edgy” Angry Photographer? Why must every camera manufacturer respond to every other manufacturer’s latest release??

I definitely recommend the 40mm f2 for this instance. a) affordable b) decently fast aperture will allow for shallow dof c) slight telephoto on DX format is also good for portraits d) compact and ...

It does help thanks…and doesn’t because I don’t need it lol 😂 Is it appreciably smaller than the 35mmS on camera?
-
Just curious if anyone has pulled the trigger on one of these beauties for the Z mount yet and their impressions. I already have the 40mm and am happy with it…but I have a wandering eye lol.

Yeah, it is a (minor) inconvenience taking out my adapted 70-300 AFP and was hoping this could be the answer. No way. Not with how well the AFP performs and its in-lens VR.

I love the feel of Voigtlanders in the hand, the feel of the focus ring, its looks and the way it looks on the camera. It is just gorgeous. Then, whenever I use it, I think, damn this isn’t that ...

Where do you suggest we draw the line? How did you even comment on this thread? Did you write it out with a pencil and paper and mail it to the DPR staff and they typed it out in the comments section?
-
@KaisDB Of course. I thought that went without saying. However this article is about Tech, and so is the “Physics” statement.

If you want to reduce photography to being solely a function of a camera’s sensor size, then sure. But we all know that there is MUCH more to it than that. You cannot remove post processing and...

Since you don’t mind manual focus, how about the Zeiss 28mm f2 Distagon? I just LOVE the way that it renders and it is a ZF.2 lens meaning that it is chipped for Nikon as well :)
