Sally Mae: Sony is smart. You cannot do this this with a camera...
"Bethesda's Fallout 4 sold 12 million copies and generated over $750 million in its first 24 hours at retail on Nov. 10"

That is 1 game. Sony gets a cut for every one sold for the PS. Sony makes even more on their own games. Multiple that by 7 (ave # of games bought by PS owners).

Then add $60 annually for each of the over 36 million subscribers.

Money is what keeps the lights on and investors happy. Thats the end goal.

ShaiKhulud: Also most comments are plain dumb. Sony is a huge company compared to all camera manufacturers. Combined.

At time when even a huge electronics giant like Sony is struggling for key components, it's a bad news for every camera maker. Sony has way higher priority in the supply chain than your beloved Nikon, Canon etc. PS5 alone will ship more units during DAY ONE than every ILC-camera combined in a year. That's actually works in favour of Alpha division too, because obviously, they are getting same high-pripority access to the components as Big Sony.

Now imagine how much lower in the supply chain Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic and others are. There is a reason why Canon is buying Sony's stacked 1'' CMOS from Sony and why the A9 challenger (DRAM CMOS) is MIA after 3 years.

This artcile is a pure speculation, ofc. Written by a journalist who's track record is far from perfect. At least his 'insider scoops' are alway hit and miss.

But hey, what a headline to gloat, I guess.

Canon themselves produce most of their own parts. Hence they do not have to worry about shortages. I know back in the days, Canon purchased sensors made by Sony for their PowerShots but I think that has shifted to Canon producing it themselves especially for their DSLRs.

Kinematic Digit: I like the design concept behind this. My only concern is the locking clips look like a disaster waiting to happen with clumsier/careless people (like myself), catching it and breaking it.

They did say parts are replaceable.

MichelBB: So this is the hip belt that you can purchase separately ? What a joke.

Why do not they take a real hiking backpack and build a photo backpack from there.

Capture and Range Pouch are sold separately. For this Travel Line campaign, they are only focusing on the Travel Line. They may allow you to purchase other accessories after the campaign has ended but for now, its only the Travel Line.

Previous PD campaign (Everyday bags), they offered the purchase of straps, capture clips, etc.

The waist belt is attached to the bag. It swivels out. When you don't need it, it tucks inside to the back padding.

GulliNL: For me the bag itself is a bit large, and the price is quite steep as well. But I really am interested in the new bits they designed for it, how it works and how it is layed out. Guess I'll wait till it hits the stores.

Also I'm curious how the pouches and cubes work out with my current 20L EBP. Might pick some of those up in the future, together with the small elastic pouch which velcroes into every bag they make, those things are great!

Is the Travel Line compatible with the Everyday Line?
It sure is! We design all of our product lines to work together swimmingly. Some key points of integration: - Use Tech Pouch and Wash Pouch to organize stuff inside any of our Everyday Bags. - The Everyday Sling 5L fits perfectly inside the Travel Backpack 45L, making it an easy-to-pack on-the-go day bag for cameras or just everyday stuff. - The Rain Fly fits the Travel Backpack 45L, and the 20/30L Everyday Backpacks Here are some places where the Travel Line and Everyday Line work differently: - You cannot use Camera Cubes inside our Everyday Bags. They don't quite fit. Everyday Bags have native camera organization and protection via their FlexFold dividers. - Everyday Bag dividers don't work with Camera Cubes and vice-versa. Every bag we make uses different sized dividers so that the dividers work perfectly inside that specific bag.

Mike Evangelist: Redesigned anchors look useful (I have a couple cameras where the old design doesn't fit through the eyelets, no matter how hard I pull the fishing line). Went to their website to buy some, but none of this new stuff in on the website yet.

Official launch is 8/15 and will be available on PD and retailers. Embargo was lifted on 8/10.

Jon555: So are the new products backwards/forwards compatible or do people have to pay attention to buy compatible products?

The new anchors work with old straps and the old anchors work with the new straps. So you do not have to worry about switching or having to buy new ones. The new anchors are the same as the old ones. Just slightly thinner in the puck and the cord is slimmer as well but holds the same amount of weight.

win39: What I hate about the old Cuff is that the weight of a tiny camera(Pany GM5) gradually reduces the size of the loop around the wrist. The buckle slides. Pain in the a... Has that been fixed?

You can actually lock the buckle in place. When you want it to cinch, all you have to do is tug on it. Take a look at this unboxing/overview video - https://youtu.be/Qh5gIez8SAQ

Michel Savage: I am cruelly disappointed. Been waiting day after day for these to come out. Even sold my Fuji A2 for that. Big bad blow against Nikon and its reputation: the DL disaster will always remain in everybody's mind, reminding us that, well, if you buy a Nikon product, Nikon may not honor its warranties because it may not remain in existence. Very sad. We must now turn to Canon or hesitantly, Sony. Thank you Nikon, the D7100 was a great camera, and my last Nikon ever. Someone at Nikon headquarters just phocked up.

@Old Cameras, unfortunately the DL didn't even have a product launch.

The should of released the DL and dropped the KeyMission.
