Micro USB Type-B is definitely fragile. My son is having problems  with this port in his Nikon D3400. Only micro USB type-C should be used by Nikon.

Thanks for your inputs. Here in India a few of my friends, who are primarily into birding, insist on Nikkor lenses for Nikon bodies. In this case they are using D500 plus the Nikkor 200-500 f5.6. ...
