Raven15: Congratulations Gutkin! That is quite a combination of preparation, luck, and processing.
Also congrats to aris widiyanto, cjf2, Bob Tullis, and everyone else, including Jess Shuddup who was among my top five votes. I'd also like to congratulate some spectacular shots that were not in the challenge.
I read some comments in the voting stage, and while they were not necessarily aimed at me I'd like to address them.
If you think my photo is derivative you should see this link (if you haven't already): http://www.d.umn.edu/tma/MungerSite/LkMarian/Article.html
If you think it is over processed, here is what the unprocessed version was like: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/4556634916/photos/2807681/
And of course if you think it is under processed I have a more processed version: http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/4556634916/photos/2807683/p7010373_filteredaas
Thanks again and congrats to all the winners!
Yeah, I expect many people didn't vote for it because it wasn't apparent it was a "Real Photograph." I started with it in my top 5, then thought "well, maybe I should vote for something I can be sure of instead." It wasn't until I went back to the original challenge to see how it was made that I put it back in the top. It's definitely one of the more original entries, and honestly is probably the most universally applicable as art. Pretty much all the others including mine would look out of place in most circumstances because they are too specific.

Thank you! I used a Rokinon manual aperture/manual focus fisheye lens (but no distortion correction!) which doesn't communicate the aperture to the camera body. I seem to recall it was f/5.6, with focus on roughly the more distant knee.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I have a few versions floating around, and I'm having a hard time choosing.

Scott Mac: Nice work with the fish.
It just occurred to me you weren't referring to the faint ripples in the lake caused by jumping fish...
Scott Mac: Nice work with the fish.
Thanks! I'm a big fan of the fish myself.
Wow, there are some spectacular photos in this one, many would take first place in other challenges if this one weren't already full of outstanding shots. I spammed some 4's and 5's around to my favorites.
Thanks, your comment means a lot to me. However, it appears most voters despised it.
Dang! I was at the same place on the same day as the Mongolia Racer video! I could tell by the color of the light first. Now that was strange to see...
