Actually, you might have probed deep into my psyche and found my real motivation. I'm not pleased with the ergonomics of the A6500. I find it too small and unbalanced. Its hard to get to the ...

I'm definitely an amateur and am grateful for your advice. Maybe I'll invest in a better zoom lens (have kit lens now).

I would start with the E-mount I currently use with the A6500. Its a Sigma 30mm f1.4. I realize the crop factor would reduce some of the advantage of FF but eventually I'd get a FF lens. I shoot ...

Are you suggesting that if I have camera in Continuous AF it might (on its own) hunt and move? Is this true even if I have focus set to Center (instead of flexible spot)? Thanks again to all for ...

I'm thinking of trading in my Sony A6500 for a Sony A7ii. I've got the urge to try FF. I know the A7ii is an older camera but its in excellent condition (used). I'd have to pay about $250 plus my ...

I don't understand the benefit of putting the camera into single shot AF as opposed to leaving it in continuous AF. I've read up on it and understand the difference but I'm still unclear as to the ...

Mostly other Sony products -- NEX 3, A6500, RX100 ii, RX100 vii, HX9 HX1, Bloggie. Also Nikon D40. Canon sx700. I might have model #s wrong for some of these as its been years. Most were 1" or ...

Thanks. I was looking for a modern camera with the dials on top with that classic film camera look. Fuji seems to be the leader. Any specific Fujis I should look at?

I'm with you. I love my RX10 and its constant f2.8. I've been tempted to upgrade to the Mark3 or Mark4 but see no good reason to. My RX10 takes some great shots. That said, it hasn't stopped me ...

Every February I buy myself something. I think its due to cabin fever. Anyway, I've decided this year's gift will be a retro style camera. Looking at Fuji models as well as Nikon Z fc, but I'm ...

Sony should just install a voice activated menu system and be done with it! ;-)

Or use the panorama mode on the Rx100m6.
-
Can't you just set focus point to Center (for example) and leave it at that?
-
I would think there is some sort of internal clock running that enables the camera to maintain accurate date/time data. Not sure how much battery that would drain. Maybe I'll test my RX10 m1 to see.

Some other shots. The phone shot above (2nd shot) has a lot of sky but yet still has much more contrast and the sky isn't blown out like it is on the RX10 shots. As far as metering, I think it was ...

Thanks. Both shots were taken at the same time of day. I have some others but they're all showing the same -- the RX10 shots look "washed out' and the phone pics are sharper and more vivid.

Love my RX10 (mark 1) and its never let me down. Until now. Please see the below. The pic from my phone was much clearer and sharper than from the RX10. I'm sure it was user error but I can't ...

If you look closely at Michelangelo's famous statue "David" you will see the right hand is disproportionately large. It's bigger than the left hand and over-sized for the scale of the body. I ...

There is no gap with my Sony case. It fits quite snugly. In fact, since it was designed for the Mark2 the top piece is actually a bit tight on the Mark7.
-
If you remove the top piece there's no place to hang it. It comes off completely and you have to find a safe place for it (and hope you don't forget it).
