Why is the comparison selection mostly full of crop-sensor cameras? For Canon no R5 just a couple of APS DSLRs (7D and 7Dmk2)!

Cat Photography in Candle-Lit attics, surely.... (A bit of a play on the "Societies" in the UK, started out as the "Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers" (SWPP) then added every possible...

I rarely use watermarks, but when I do I like this technique: https://youtu.be/RmvJv463PA0?t=439 I wonder if they can AI that away? (I prefer just to reduce the resolution, although GigaPixel AI is...

Would it also be worth looking at the two 50mm lenses that are 40MP approved to see if either gives a better result? Or are they too far from 85mm equiv? BTW are the 56s manual focus or...

Refractors are better in that they don't have a central obstruction, which causes changes away from the ideal diffraction pattern, and if they have a non-optical secondary mirror support (optical...

How many are you willing to click on?

It's 14 bit vs 12 bit, 2 bits = 2 stops, which depending on subject you may, or may not, care about...

BTW I also got a Red Dot Sight (the Oly one) to use for BIF on m43... I did find the parallax errors were tricky at shorter ranges (I usually compared the dot with the centre of the EVF frame and...

Interesting photo-centric point, I understand Canon do the Fluorite lenses (maybe the complete lens sets) for Tak (to Tak designs)...

Partly it's lower volumes, partly it's the really top end Telescopes are individually hand-optimised by experts. For example every lens set for the recent AP Stowaway Refractor was individually...

P.P.S. AF acquisition speed can be more important than AF hit rate. I remember Thom Hogan (who's very Nikon based) thinks his Nikons AF better than the Canons but the Canons' always acquire focus a...

P.S. (Too many chars and too lazy to prune): Lastly a high-MP FF camera can give you the same resolution on a subject as a lower-MP cropped camera, but with a much wider DoF, making following...

I haven't seen that (impressively long) article before, thanks for the link, and while it's interesting you can spend months finding the best settings for BIF photos (I certainly did on my DSLR)...

Stacked sensors haver a big price lift with size, "ordinary" ones are more expensive but won't make a 2x difference in camera price on their own unless one is older technology (like most m43...

The m43 AF pixels are smaller than any FF and some FF (Canon DPAF) can use a whole bunch of them for an AF point, while 20-24MP FF has about 4x the pixel size, so it's the same light at 2 stops...

Yes strangely AI Dog AF didn't make the cut?

" In terms of light gathered per unit area, the MFT lens collects 4x more light than the "equivalent" FF lens. " Err, no, it does receive 4x the light per unit are of sensor (which is what the two...

Johans81 - you fan get 50-60MP bodies that are smaller and lighter than the GH6 and resolve marginally less detail with he same actual focal length lens. It makes m43 annoying for wildlife/sports....

I'm sure they have the same image processing SoC, so only the stacked sensor adds speed.
