Luis Gabriel Photography: Was this tested at the same shutter speeds? Because recent tests show that Fuji is STILL pretty misleading with their ISOs compared to other companies.

Class A: "even though there is four times the amount of data"
Err, no. Numbers are four times larger (with four more fine steps available) but that doesn't mean there is "four times the amount of data". From 14 to 16 bit it is a 14.3% increase of data not a 400% ("four times") increase.

Class A is a very good example of modern day internet ignorant. Don't be a Class A, be cool.

telawrence: This was a lot better than the Nikon interview where they were laughable, talking about listening to their customers and so would create a mirrorless APSC camera. Nikon are still in the dark ages when it comes to customer relations. Either say nothing at all or say it right. Fuji got it right here.

D850 is the best DSLR ever built. No one can argue about that BUT it's still a "DSLR" and NO, it's nowhere near easier to take pictures with D850 ffs, it has a optical viewfinder to begin with...

lacikuss: Great interview, thanks.

I only disagree regarding their perception of FF vs APSC, the creative possibilities of FF combined with today's processing speed at low cost will make APSC uncompetitive.

No, what will happen is the IQ quality difference between APSC and FF will diminish even further as years pass by, as the technology progress. FF will be to go tool of photographers who want better SNR ratio from the sensor and MF will be the tool of photographers who want the ultimate image quality (still a small general market share though)

Jefftan: x-trans is the future?

Fuji insist on using bad sensor for no reason other than marketing lost my business and respect

before attacking me, please remember their medium format camera use Bayer
they understand those that paid top dollars won't tolerate this x-trans BS

@MrBrightSide I've been hearing "faveon is the future" since 2005. Somehow in 2019, that "future" is still not here. Hopefully, another 14 years later, we'll be there :)

chrissf: Pretty expensive. The Sony 16mm f2.8 is only 200$.

It’s apparent that you’ve never handled or used a fuji xf lens before since you’re comparing it to an outsourced and crappy sony lens... *scoff

Two Thunderbolt 3 ports

There is nothing to accelerate. Air specs are more than lame. Phew, drones really live in a parallel universe.

@ 808_freedive : It's for accelerating render times and put the encoding workload on the GPU, you dummy. Also, there are hundreds of thousands people who prefer working on the go to save time. They finish the job on the go and render it when they come home or office. The gaming is not the only thing in this world... stop looking every computer spec from a gamer's perspective.

Reservoir_Dog: It just suck, thunderbolt 3 is not fast enough for external gpu. The gpu will bottleneck at 4x pcie 3.0 speeds.
Another thing, macs sucks. They are 'boutique" computers, fashion statements these days. Years ago it was different but now they just suck.

Well, the same argument can be said for windows computers too. Windows user since 3.1, I liberated myself from windows 10 years ago and never looked back. Oh, I DO use windows 10 for gaming on my desktop, there's never been a single day I don't curse while using windows... at the end of the day, it's a personal decision. Use one, use both, who cares as long as you get the job done in the way you want it.

Autriche78: I have the 10-24 so thankfully I don't really need this definitely overpriced lens. I'm not someone who shoots landscapes in terrible weather so the WR isn't critical for me.

IMO many Fuji lenses are about $150-200 above where they should be. I don't ever buy them unless they are already 'on sale'. Especially the 18-135 is absolutely ridiculously overpriced given its performance characteristics.

It's supply and demand bro. In most countries it's really difficult to find 18-135 due to high demand. My camera store is always sold out on that lens as soon as it arrives. That drives the price up considerably.

AbrasiveReducer: What a missed opportunity! Fuji could spend lots of money, develop an entirely new full frame system that's bigger, heavier, more expensive, while offering a small increase in quality, and ends up being equivalent to everybody else's FF camera. Who wouldn't jump in to a market like that?

you know you just describe the aps-c to FF with your own words? Thats how technology works, not just in photography, in computers all all kinds of tech related stuff.

@Suahuatica OK OK We get it YOU HAVE AN A7 :) Why does sony users have to show off what camera are they using every single time? That ISO 10k won't happen on an A7 mate. Thank you for comparing your camera to the big guns. You hold on to that A7 tight, don't let it go no matter what.

CanonSharpShooter: One has to wonder why Fujifilm left X Trans out of these GFX cameras?

Because it takes significantly longer time to get a readout from a X-Trans sensor compared to Bayer one. Also, MF sensor is something new to them, they need time to make an extensive testing on bayer vs xtrans at big sensor sizes.

Ebrahim Saadawi: What's the appeal of this system when Full Frame cameras offer the same image quality? We used to pay for Medium Format mainly to get inaccessible resolutions and dynamic range, but with this specific model, it's as good as a Z7/A7RIII and even the old D800/A7r/5Ds don't leave out by much, nothing to be concered about for actual photography.

Plus those systems have more lenses, faster glass, faster AF, image stabilization, higher fps, 4K video, smaller/lighter, etc

I just don't get it. I also find it very strange they went for an XE-3 design versus the much more appealing X-Pro2, and to be honest, aesthetics is a big part of the equation at this type of camera.

@ Ebrahim

The more you talk, the more you sink. So, shhhhh.
