Len-Lex: Doesn't surprise me at all. This is a great lens which falls right between expensive faster telephotos and the cheaper-slower. I think world-wide there are many nature/sport photo-enthusiasts, who can't afford or justify buying 500mm f4 or other lenses of such grade, while would like to have better alternative to various 100-500mm zooms. This lens is a great solution for them. Still waiting for Cannon to catch this Nikon's trend. And hope they will be up to the demand.

What do you mean? Sony has the unexpensive but really good 100-400mm and 200-600 zooms, they are relatively light. 100-400 weights similarly to the nikkor and is F5.6 at long end too. It's also cheaper and more useful since it's a zoom. Before you ask, the difference between 400mm and 500mm isn't that meaningful.

ozturert: High-ISO performance looks better than A7 II and all APS-C sensors which is as expected. A little behind the latest 24MP Sony sensors but then those cameras are more expensive anyway.

True. Still, even the slightest changes in exposure removes the 6D noise advantage. If it doesn't matter, why even shoot raw at all?
Also if you check the link i sent earlier you will see that 6D actually has worse dr than D7200 which has a crop sensor. What i mean is, pure, out of the camera raw iso performance is only half the story.
Especially since A7II does have ibis(even though one of the worst ones).

I do have to agree though that after i played around with it in a camera store, RP is a wonderful camera to shoot with, it feels great in the hand. And in my opinion ergonomics > sensor performance(to a certain degree).

Although if you take dynamic range into consideration, the minor iso performance advantage goes out the window the moment you need to raise the shadows more than 1EV in post. And i'm talking even about the A7II.

loadofcobblers: 'If you need that impressive reach in a lens that you can actually pick up, this will be one of the only options.'
This is deliberate obfuscation. This lens is either one of the several options, or it's the only one.
So why has the writer done it?

I saw the photos on flickr, and i must say that the camera really hurts from that really small sensor. Even at low iso they are so noisy and have smarpthone-like, "digital" look. They seem good if you only look at miniatures.

Mateus1: Big drawback is slow motion 1080/120p mode that is 1.29x croped.
Fuji why did you do that??? It's most popular video feature now, so why limiting it?Using 18/2 lens I get 23mm field of view, with 16mm close 21mm... so not true wide angle view... + poorer IQ in low light with 1.29x crop.

Is it possible Fuji can bring 1080/120p from full sensor in future via firmware update or is it already hardware limitation?

Why? Because it's way cheaper. They had to cut <something>.

Ergo607: On the same day is the introduction of the EOS RP, Fuji introduces a body dat crushes it on almost every region, and is smaller and less ugly (and probably will have better IQ as well.) Well done Fuji!

I hate to be that guy, but you still have to remember that unline X-T30, RP is a full frame camera and a smallest one since the first A7.
Although i agree new Fuji probably crushes it in any other factor.
