I strongly suspect Sony did some market research for this added feature. It has been suggested that the availability of gridlines would be of benefit to certain commercial photographers and...

@Tweets_Core Truth be told Fuji needs to concentrate on upping their game regarding their autofocus implementation. That said, a global shutter on the likes of a GFX 100 would be mad, crazy cool.
-
@Tweets_Core Wrong! The photons make a "boink" sound as they bounce off the sensor. ;)

Being a Fuji owner, I don't have a dog in the FF donnybrook but the α 9 III is one impressive camera from Sony.
-
Notwithstanding the advantages in lighting sources, it isn't the A9's global shutter, per se, but with these frame rates it's capturing the precise grin or grimace on an athlete's face.
-
The release date for the R1 has been baked in for at least a year. It's not like changing car tires or putting on a new necktie.
-
Highly unlikely that the R1 will be delayed as well as having a global shutter.

@lumberjack63 I'd agree with you if a sensor was simply measured in its read-out speed, mps being equal. If the two sensors have identical S/N ratios, sensitivities and dynamic ranges, then I'd...

Fuji too re; "embarrassment of riches"
-
@John Gellings You mean regarding Sony's AF capabilities? Ok, if you say so.
-
Well, kaizen certainly summarizes Fuji's performance in the AF realm. Sometimes, I think that this kaizen mind-set has the boys in siloed up in Minato City. The one question I would have loved...

Clearly, the GXF100 II is an extraordinary camera. An instant classic. Nevertheless, the rest of these newest entries from Fuji have been more of a mixed bag, truth be told.
-
You mean to say an X-Pro4 wouldn't sell well? I've been hoping to replace my X-T4 with the updated X-Pro. That would indicate an extreme lack of imagination on Fuji's part, IMHO.
-
If Fuji has decided to terminate the X-Pro series that would indicate a profound lack of imagination. The excuse in my mind is that they're taking stock of the shortcomings of these latest X-series...
-
Agreed but the "zed" rubs me the wrong way.

Richard proving once again that it's impossible to take a boring picture in my home town.

While not a perfect camera for sure, Nikon has more hits than misses with this Zf. The EVF could us a couple more mps. But for two grand this FF is worth consideration for anyone thinking of moving...

After listening to Cine D's interview of Nobutatsu Takahashi, Sony's GM for their Cinema Line, and Jay Sato's interview at this spring's NAB it's apparent to me that Sony's video camera division...
-
@Malling Of course, contacts on the bottom plate would be required but since they are updating and expanding the C line you'd think a little creative, out-of-the-box thinking would be employed...

Fujis aren't noted for their AF chops so, the speed prolly isn't an issue for most users.
