Strange. The Q2 has the same lens as the Q and an awful lot of components are also shared. My Q2 has magic and the Q I borrowed also had “magic” as you put it. Not sure if you do this but I only ...

"a more a mobile back up for everyday? Not that worried about pixels" With that brief I would plump for the DL-7. It will give you enough pixels and flexibility of a lovely little zoom to satisfy ...

Read what Stefan Daniel said about that. No chance.

I still enjoy using its predecessor.

I prefer Silver Efex, as that’s what I use with my CL and Q2. I like pictures that are more contrasty and more dramatic, so that maybe why it’s my preference.
-
I would be inclined to get a CL and add the Sigma 18-50 lens. Relatively light, pretty good optics, and if it’s a used CL not a lot of money either.

I’ve said a number of times that this unicorn of a camera is unlikely to happen simply from a business perspective. Unless you intend to charge the same price as an SL2, why would you buy an SL2? I ...

Lack of weight. You need to take out about 500g from the SL2 and take a proportionate amount from FF L lenses.

What type of photography do you do, and what settings do you use on your current camera?

Nah - Leica owners buy insurance for their valuables.

If you’re only going to shoot jpeg simulations I wouldn’t waste my money on a Q or Q2.

Noticed it but couldn’t care less. It’s like corners of the body getting worn. It’s normal. If you’ve spent that much on a camera thrash it to within an inch of its life and get your moneys worth ...

For Leica it would make no business sense. You effectively cannibalize M sales and lose a huge amount of margin in the process, which means you have less to invest in next generation products like ...

Leica may have boxed themselves in but they are not going to launch a Q sized ILC until they have recouped their investment on the SL2 range. If you launched this new camera you would kill the SL2 ...

What does rangefinderish mean?

That’s why you use the histogram to adjust the exposure compensation wheel or simply shoot with your preferred manual settings. The remainder of adjustments can be done in post.
-
I think that's called an SL2/S as it takes all M lenses with an adaptor and all L lenses, including TL lenses and it has an EVF. The only thing it doesn't have is a rangefinder.

The Leica philosophy is “simplicity” that the camera essentially gets out of the way of the photographer. It’s akin to the Bauhaus movement in that “Less is more” and “Form follows function”. If ...
