  • My wife is similar. I think she has a better eye for composition than me, but she’s happy with an iPhone. In the end it wasn’t worth fighting over.
  • While you say your wife does not want to change lenses you/she could still consider a TL2 with an 18-56. It’s user friendly - don’t need the EVF, light, and the 18-56 covers most everyday ...
  • There is an old expression I keep in the back of my mind: “Marry your lens system, have affairs with cameras” I have slowly acquired lenses for my CL to the point where I don’t really need to add ...
  • I have one and like it for it’s relatively compact size and weight. It’s not gotten much use so far but I anticipate greater use once I can travel. Andrew Tobin has tested the 55-135 against M ...
  • It’s not the shutter but the imagine stabilization and it’s perfectly normal.
  • I don’t see the point of changing. If one of the goals is simplicity just take out one body + one lens and see how that goes. You have an X100 - just use that alone for the next month and see how ...
  • Replied in Ordered Q2
I can only speak for what I have experienced with Dan Tamarkin and he is as straight as a die. Not one single transaction where I was asked to pay a premium.
  • Replied in Ordered Q2
I would contact Dan Tamarkin at Tamarkin in Chicago. They are an official Leica dealer, and Dan has always gone out of his way to help customers. Well worth a call.
  • Think about your point of view (in every sense). Try shooting at a lower height. Also look at where your light is coming from and shift your shooting position accordingly.
  • The camera is replaceable, so insurance is far more valuable than any bag you can buy. Frequently swapping out memory cards and storing them separately from your camera and credit cards is a good ...
  • You don’t need a Q2M to see black and white in the EVF - you just adjust the settings to show b&w. I do that with my CL as it helps with framing the image. The output is still color.
  • It’s easy to “see” in B&W - just set your EVF to B&W. The Q2M would be great to own, but it’s obviously an add on to any cameras you currently have. Nice problem to have! I will stick with ...
  • It's probably going to be a T/Tl/TL2/CL body, depending on your budget. Or you go try and find an M9 with an updated sensor.
  • The DL-7 is a nice compact go anywhere camera, but you will see image quality differences with the CL. I would echo the point about shooting RAW/DNG with the CL: if I was only ever going to shoot ...
  • But Leica denies that. Who do you believe: a guy who wants to sell you something, or the company that knows if the truth is different from what they claim then their reputation is down the toilet. ...
  • Leica have categorically denied that Panasonic make their lenses. I have to believe that as in the absence of the alternative there’s no incentive for Leica to lie. Leica lenses are superior and ...
  • There is an irony perhaps that the latest software update for the CL, and following similar updates for SL2 and Q2, mimics the rear screen of the T with simple icon touch controls. Your TL has been ...
  • You can access the instruction book on the Leica Camera website if you don’t have it. Have you set up profiles yet? If not the instruction book will show you how.
  • You can go to settings and choose the electronic shutter only, which would make the camera completely silent. You can adjust image review in terms of length of review, or simply have no review at all.
  • The CL still gives you more options from the pancake 18mm through to the 55-135mm telephoto. Not forgetting M lenses and new Sigma lenses you can use. The CL also has a pretty simple UI, though I ...
