watcher1's current gear

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R II
Olympus OM-D E-M1
Olympus OM-D E-M10 II
Amazing IQ; the EVF greatly improves enjoyment; tilt screen also is a major upgrade.
My work-horse camera.
Love the size and handling with the official grip. All the control knobs are perfectly placed for me. Good improvement over the original. IQ same as with my E-M1.
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 17mm 1:1.8
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm F1.8
Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm 1:2.8 PRO
Very sharp, IQ excellent, fairly quick to focus
Very pleased with IQ
Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 9-18mm 1:4.0-5.6
Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm F4-5.6 OIS
Panasonic Lumix G Vario HD 12-32mm F3.5-5.6 Mega OIS
I find this lens to be quite sharp, even at 300mm. Performance improves with lens clamp and monopod.
Use it with the E-M10 II as a great compact set up.

Other gear:
  • Asahi Pentax Spotmatic (1967) My first SLR: Match-needle exposure setting and stop-down metering! This and a 1970 Vivitar 135mm f3.5 gave me some of the best photographs colorwise that I have ever taken. After I sold the combo (to "upgrade"!) I spent the next ten years trying to get gear with equal quality.
  • Nikon Nikkormat EL My first auto exposure SLR (~1975)
  • Olympus OM-1 Decided to downsize after the Nikkormat EL (~1978)
  • Olympus OM-2
  • Olympus OM-4
