I owned an NEX-5R forever and the a7c now is literally my first-ever EVF my expectations were low because all I saw anywhere was “bad EVF”, but I’m fact I was blown away by how amazing it is. I ...

I’m all for innovative ideas but this seems like a solution in search of a problem and it doesn’t even look fun to use! Who actually wants to use a Frankenstein DLSR made from an old film camera...

I bought an a7c recently and I’m also looking at 20mm G, 40mm G, and an 85mm as my 3-prime kit. I do wish they’d make a 20mm G that matched the 40mm but we can’t have it all. :)

While it is more commonly used for video output, jpeg output on all Sony alphas can be extensively customized with Picture Profiles. What you don’t get is anything pre-made meant to emulate films ...

There’s some decent offers on glass I’ve been looking at, almost 20% off Sony stuff labeled “Like New”. Anyone had experiences good or bad buying from Amazon Warehouse? I assume factory warranty ...

I’m old enough to remember when the complaint about E-mount was Sony making lots of fancy mirrorless cameras and no glass to put on them. :)

I also dream of a 20mm in this series as I think it is a more natural companion to the 40mm than 24mm. I want aperture rings on as many of my lenses as possible for the a7c and the current 20mm G ...

I’m in the market for an FE 85mm f/1.8. Out of curiosity I went to eBay to look at used prices and I noticed a number of sellers offering this lens new in box for $500-$550, whereas authorized ...

If you want to hold tracking target through multiple shots best thing is to use AF-ON button (as long as you hold it, it keeps the same target)

Hi all, looking for advice on how you would take / improve a particular type of portrait. In the spring the bluebells come into bloom by the river in our neighborhood and it's quite beautiful. My ...

Not exactly an exciting first outing for my new a7C, but we attended my grandfather's funeral this past weekend and had some nice visits with my grandmother. This is her and my brother, FaceTiming ...

I like this one especially, looking at it feels a bit like going back in time.

Interesting, just tried this out. I may try to train myself to shoot right eye with my a7C eventually but for now I'm left eye so this feature is unusable, my nose turns it on every time haha.

I have an A7C and was wondering about the same thing. You want the AF-ON button to toggle on/off subject tracking the same way that using the touchscreen works, instead of having AF-ON button do ...

Just a heads up, 35mm is going to be pretty tight for selfies.

Thanks for bringing this lens to my attention. I definitely like having an aperture ring on all my lenses, it goes a long way towards compensating for the lesser controls on the a7C, and I spent a ...

Interesting that you are so high on APS-C lenses. I still have my Sony 20mm f/2.8 pancake which was definitely my #1 lens on my NEX, but I had kind of written off using APS-C lenses on FF except ...

Thanks for the advice! I wasn't actually meaning to directly solicit lens advice per se, my question really just one of curiosity about what lenses others found themselves using the most on the a7C. ...

Hi all! About 9 years ago I bought an NEX-5R with the help of this forum. It was my first ILC and it served me well for a long time, as well as functioning as a bit of a "gateway drug" into film ...
