  • The original looks good to me. Never been there, but looking at the picture would there be more spaces cleared of the rope in front of the Pieve for easier framing? Good work and thank you for sharing.
  • Sorry have overlooked this. The in-camera focus stacking facility of GX85 was added by a firmware after it was released. There was a supplementary manual specially for the new feature. Post Focus ...

Basically GX85 is far from an entry class model. I would think most members might agree on GF would be it because of no IBIS, fewer physical buttons, no m-shutter, no evf, limited 4K, no Video ...
  • When I shoot the lighting (X'mas lighting or whatsoever), basically I would ask myself, what I am looking to get? What is my aimed target: the lighting, the background or both? I shoot lighting a ...
  • Without good in-camera stablization, e.g. IBIS, lens IS or combined of two, you might bring a monopod, or find support nearby, e.g. tree, hand rail, wall etc.
  • 12~40 on non IBIS and a soap like small body? I would prefer an IS lens, e.g. the 12~35 or 12~32 (for compactness) on GF3 (before it was replaced by GX850) and now GX850... :-) The 3+ stops lens IS ...
  • You might realize that when the IBIS system allows the sensor to move inside the housing, the space for movement is very limited. Therefore as long as the hitting is not strong/ violence, the ...
  • Just curious, what was the lens on your GX800?
  • GX850 has its own system of controls through the back command Dial. I found it was actually faster on operation before dual dials were introduced to G and GX. I learnt and love it since the older GF3.
  • Yes, as said later in my post, I prefer the 2nd option :-) .
  • You have nailed it. Indeed, also a smaller caveat of shooting as well. This is true for 1/2.33" sensor camera vs 1" sensor camera, as well as for 1" vs 43, then 43 vs APSC vs FF vs MF etc etc... It ...
  • I hate my TV to corp away the head or foot of my photos on free hand. As I shall compile my photos into video for easy playback (large quantity), to suit for majority of TV I convert my 4:3 photos ...
  • Also shooting with G85, GX85 and GX850 side by side, I am totally with you on GX85. In terms of size, it is nearly perfect for most general shooting. In my camera bags, a nude G85 takes up the same ...
  • BBF, on the Pannys I knew, is (1) AF/AE-L = AF-L, (2) AF/AE Lock Hold = ON/OFF, (3) Shutter AF = OFF. However, the AF-L will only work under AF ...
  • 4K will produce a higher IQ footage than HD (1080). But better to check any limitation on 4K of your camera: e.g. any recording limit etc because 4K video will ask the camera to deal with a lot ...
  • No, the shutter curtain will remain open on power down or power up under operation. Shutter curtain will be closed up (and open again after the exposure for the next shot) on capturing a shot.
  • If you use native M43 lenses, they are always wide open for max light to operate. It will stop down to the set aperture only when you capture the shot. For Panny M43, under Preview the lens will ...
  • Have you consider to use DXO? They would test lenses on various bodies for a more straight forward comparison. Unfortunately DXO has tested very selective lenses. :-( I was used to refer to the ...
  • Auto might be your option. Due to the very low cost of storage cards, why not take at the highest resolution and highest quality. This can let us to have more room for cropping later, or have ...
  • Not knowing your camera. Does it support video P/S/A/M mode (i.e. under video you can select which parameters to use like still photo shooting?) If not, you are on full auto video and hencebjust ...
