  • Thanks You for the appreciation :) Scott Yes I miss that lens, but anyway change is always good isnt it? New projects to come. And yes, in these new blogs from me, I am not intended to do ...
  • thanks Daniel, one of the things "up" to be ambassador is to try new lenses... one of the things "down" is that You have to send them back :)
  • It's here, shots in Ligurian sea and rocks, northern Italy: https://www.marcodadofoto.com/blog/2019/2/sigma-40-mm-art-on-the-rocks-marco-dadone Mr. Yamaki did like it as he "twitted" so :) - by now ...
  • Yes I agree, even though its difficult to leave the "extra wide" habit for pure landscapists. And I am... but since I keep the dp3 Q in my bag, one focal lenght between 50 and 70 is often used.
  • I understand, but, in this case - I was thinking the same (before the try on the 40mm). After, I must say that I used that focal lenght for almost everything: landscapes, close up, street photo, of ...
  • The most sharp is the 40. The 105 is very good but the 40 is unbeatable.
  • Hi David and thanks a lot. IN my personal experience, I do lots of stamps with 50x75 cm size, and they are spectacular. I assume You can do bigger prints without any problem, but never tried over ...
  • the 105 has more limitation of use, but a softer bokeh (one of the best), the 40 has more possibilities of use and a more "cinematographic" (between soft and nervous) bokeh. Just two different things.
  • No I had it for the time of a try, a month or so. It's not my "elected" focal lenght even if its reaaaallly appealing and one could easily use just this focal. The lens in itself is gorgeous. But ...
  • Thanks a lot.  By the way, I had the "honour" to see this article tweeted directly by Mr. Kazuto Yamaki that was a kind of surprise.
  • Thank You Ted, I'm "commosso" (moved/touched,,, I don't remember) :) :)
  • Created discussion thread 40 mm ART on SDQH
Hallo ! As Sigma Italy ambassador I did this article recently, if You want to have a look it's on my website www.marcodadofoto.com on the BLOG section: https://www.marcodadofoto.com/blog/2019/1/mas ...
  • Hi Stuart, no sorry Shawn the Sheep has black legs and face. This cutie is one of his wee friends :)
  • Alex, Ted, thanks for the friendly discussion. I just processed the file with SPP, not even a passage in photoshop. No fill light, no strange things 😁 I swear. So if you see it over processed it ...
  • it S not over processed at all. But, if you see it that way....
  • Noise red middle, details +1. The out of focus bokeh is typical of the lens (I personally like it)
  • Default mode Scott. Middle. With quattro one has to balance noise reduction / details. I find it works that way in this case, though.
  • Created discussion thread the highland cutie with the 105 ART
Used to have an early chat with this cutie when in Assynt (Scotland). the 105 ART with the SDQ H (courtesy of Sigma-Imaging-UK) did a good job: at my eyes a fabolous job :) See the image at full res! ...
  • Replied in Assynt
Yes we enjoyed a lot the adventure! Thank You Vitee
  • Replied in Assynt
Great thank You, we all enjoyed a lot. The 12-24 art, together with the Ni.Si filter system, shows very little diffraction and no colour cast. I can play with the aperture without worrying too much ...
